A low-tech hit

I bought this kit for my 5-year-old grandson on my last visit. It was lightweight and fit easily in my suitcase. He absolutely loved it and was able to easily put together the airplanes by himself after a supervised session putting together the first plane (the package says these are for 8 and up, but mature younger kids will certainly enjoy them, especially with adult supervision. This was an affordable hit. You have to remember though that these planes are made from balsa wood so they are inherently fragile. Also, it took his dad, who had experience as a boy, to effectively fly the planes. They didn't last long (one was eaten by the lab next door when it flew over the fence, causing some tears) but they were great fun while they lasted. I love that they are so low-tech yet very engaging.
