Not sure if I received the wrong thing, but mine is stretchy elastic thread. I needed it for a kids event I was running and didn't have time to return it. It worked okay for our craft, but was definitely not what we were expecting. I'm very allergic to elastic and never would have ordered it.

The colors aren't as advertised, which is disappointing as I wanted a couple of the colors shown in the picture. The quality of the chord seems good though, and it should do well for the beaded necklaces that I make.
