Got this OEM remote start for my 2014 F-150 STX Sport. It plugs right in, but you have to schedule in with a ford dealership to get your truck programmed to use it. Cost me around $400 total after getting my keys cut and programmed and my truck programmed as well. All in all worth the money. Just in time for the cold weather.
Eazy perfect install!

Worked perfectly. ACE hardware cut the keys for me for free and I was able to program them to the truck using techniques found on YouTube. As for the installation, it couldnt be easier. But if you want to avoid taking it to the dealer to have the remote start turned on, you will need an OBD interface and a copy of Forscan and a laptop. You can buy the USB or WiFi OBD module on Amazon for around $25 and the Forscan is a free download. Again follow the instruction on YouTube EXACTLY and you will be remote starting in no time.

WARNING: Your truck needs to be equipped with a hood sensor. If you do not have one, this kit will NOT function. It is a rubber plunger that sticks up about 2-3 inches when the hood is open. Most trucks will have them but check before you buy this kit. Mine had it but I discovered the hard way that it wasnt plugged in when my truck would beep the horn when I tried to remote start. I found the connector stuffed in the wiring harness bundle directly under the sensor and was and to plug it in and have my remote start working in about 30secinds.
easy install

loved how easy it was to install. you can get the 2 keys cut at any hardware store with a key-cutting machine and program them with instructions found on the ford f 150 forum site. enabling the remote start option on your truck's computer can be done at the dealer, but the dealer I called quoted $140, so I ordered the dongle online (Amazon $20) and did it myself with instructions from the FORSCAN website. Works great, though the 300 ft range seems a little short sometimes, and it's nice having it be oem and not require any splicing. Also like that the keys are the actual Ford keys with everything being the same as if you'd opted for the remote start when the truck was new
just what I needed

This was an easy install - it currently works and I can start my truck from across the street.
FYI's dont take the keys to lowes they cant cut them.
also if you only have one key you have two options pay the dealer to complete the key program or by forscan and do the program yourself. As this is what I did.
Great upgrade- program yourself

I ordered this and works as advertised. Followed installation videos on you tube. I got the keys cut at a local locksmith for $2 ea (heads up Walmart won't cut them) Programmed the keys myself with 2 preexisting keys per the manual. I also was able to use my ForScan OBD2 adapter I purchased on amazon for $25 to enable the feature myself. There are several forums/videos out there on how to do it, It was easy and saved me from having to go to a dealer. I was also able to use Forscan to enable a Trailer brake controller. I love this feature, best money spent on the truck yet.
