Update 9-25-17
The transmission gear was shredded due to poor lubrication and left over debris. While it did fail within the warranty period, as an FYI, replacing it would cost $250.
The price at the time of purchase was unbeatable ($350) and I still would buy again if I had known to read more about this particular model and the issues of poorly lubricates gearboxes.
