Works like a charm

Works like a charm! Noticed a slightly better audio quality below water, but even above water with the phones positioned slightly forward of the ears, sounded great.

I read a few of the previous reviews discussing the importance to use a paperclip to keep the phones properly positioned in the charger unit, however, mine came with embedded magnets that really sealed the connection tight and no need for additional pressure. Perhaps this was an upgrade that took care of this problem, not sure. See the little silver magnet disk on the charger in the picture I posted. That is attracted to something inside the earphone unit and keeps the metal prongs and four metal earphone charging contacts nice and tight.

Getting the goggle straps into the phone rigid plastic groove took a few minutes to get them properly positioned and not accidentally adjust the length of my goggle strap, but no biggie. Just means that it's a tight fit which is good so it doesn't move around the water I guess.

Have had two swims with them so far. One for one hour and the other for about 45 minutes. Took the monotony out of it, love this product!
To call this thing crap is an insult to crap.

For those of you that got one of these that worked, congratulations. For the rest of you, I feel your pain. I ordered this headset in the hopes that it would bring some fun into my otherwise boring swim workouts. In my mind a headset or media player should simply work. A reasonabley competent person should be able to charge it for a full day ( did that ) find the finis duo folder on my desk top (no problem there) put the music in the folder, disconnect the device ( eject it properly ) and , assuming that you did all of that right when you hit play you should be rewarded with some music. Connecting it the first time was a breeze. It snapped into its docking station and I instantly got the Finis Icon on my desktop. I put 20 songs in the folder and disconnected it. I got the device to power on to test it before I took it to the pool. It powered op played the music and I turned it off. When I got to the pool I hit the power button. No lights no sound. Grrr must not have charged it fully. That even I left it on the charger for 12 hours. The LED blinked all night long. This indicated that the battery was charging but failed to get to a full charge. That was 3 days ago. I cant get the device to power on at all. I have charged it far more than should be necessary. I can still open up and manipulate the Finis folder. However, I can not get it to turn on at all. I bought this while living overseas which means I have to spend 1/4 the value of the product to return it or eat the cost entirely. The bone conducting tech is interesting but it does me no good if the I cant turn the player on.
Excellent for swimming workouts.

I have had this model and the previous model. The previous model worked for a year before they pooped out. The new model is lighter and more reliable it seems. The charge on it isn't super great, I swim 6 days a week for approximately an hour and if I don't charge them on Sunday they will die during my Monday swim. There is also no display to chose a song from, but for the most part I just put them on random and let them play.

They fit against your jawbone quite comfortably, and, even though an audiophile wouldn't appreciate the sound quality, if you are just looking for something to get you through a workout, these are perfect. I prefer the jawbone fit to the in ear because I don't have to fiddle with them constantly and my ears are open to hear if necessary. Also, I had another in ear waterproof device, and after about 10 to 15 minutes the ear pressure would begin to build to a point where I had to stop and pull them out of my ear to release the pressure. I don't have to do that with these.
This would be a great product except for the electrical connection corrosion issues.

I had the predecessor to this - the SwimP3 for several years. I decided to replace it because the o-ring had been leaking and the connectors were heavily corroded. So, since I had such good luck with the previous product, I decided to go with their new generation product, the Duo. This would be a great product except instead of using an electrical conductor that is resistant to corrosion (gold plating maybe?) they apparently chose something that does not do well with chlorine. After 20 hours of swimming, my computer would not recognize the unit or charge it. Turned out not to be a PC problem, but corrosion on the contacts between the charger and the Duo. I have found that I have to use a drop of vinegar on the contact and then rub it with a toothpick to clear off the corrosion so that it will work again. This would be a five-star product if it weren't for this problem but after many years of producing a swimming mp3 player, they should know better.
Easy to transfer music to
adrianne murphy✓ Verified PurchaseOctober 2, 2016
Easy to transfer music to, works just like a thumb drive and you copy and paste in files. Sounds good, good volume, and its reasonably comfortable to wear and easy to attach to goggles. However, the battery only lasts for about an hour max when using it even after being on the charger for 24 hours. If you have it shut off and take it off the charger, it is dead within 24 hours. Kind of annoying it has to charge at all times to get a 1 hour use out of it. I thought the battery was bad and sent it back for a warranty replacement, but the second one is the same, so it must just be the product. Also, the buttons on it are kind of lame. The advance to the next song and go back a song buttons double as the volume buttons, so if you want to turn the volume up, you have to hold down the forward button for 3 seconds. Hold it down too little of time and it just skips your song. If you are swimming, you cant just turn a song up and kick hard for a second, you have to basically stop swimming to do it. Would it kill the company to add an up and down volume button as its own thing? It has its own random play on and off button, but it has no light to show you that its on random or not, so if you hit it on accident, you dont know it is on random. Its a good product, it works exactly as they say, just wish the buttons were more thought out and the battery lasted longer.
