Not even good for firewood

Wow, where to start. I was really hoping this would look ANYTHING like the picture OR it's description. First off, I can't decide if it's plastic or wood. Yeah, it's that bad. Second, soaking something in brownish-green paint does not constitute a "walnut finish". IKEA would be embarrassed by the number of pieces and lack of assembly directions. I don't think that whatever this material is can be recycle and somehow I feel 1970's school desks were probably sacrificed in the manufacturing process. 1 star is too many but there is no way to rate it lower. I hope whoever made this thing eats a bag of Haribo gummy bears.
Very pretty and sturdy but “dark walnut finish†is actually dark brown paint

I bought the Walnut version for my bedroom and it's lovely and sturdy and will *hopefully* encourage my husband to hang his clothes on it at the end of the day. Took me about 1.5 hour to assemble using only a cordless screwdriver. All screw holes were pre-drilled and lined up nicely. It's plenty tall enough to hold my XL husband's clothing and belt without any touching the ground and no danger of tipping over. The only reason I gave it 4 stars rather than 5 is because the product photos and description imply that the walnut finish is a wood stain but, in fact, the finish is a glossy dark brown paint. It is still very lovely and fits well with my dark cherry bedroom furniture.
Great and sturdy coat rack

Very sturdy coat rack. I had a cheaper metal one before that collapsed on day one, so I decided to spend a little more on a wooden one and I'm glad I did. It was simple to put together, anyone who complains about the guide holes for the screws not lining up perfectly needs to realize that wood can flex. Covered with a thick coat of paint, but the color is lighter than I expected. I wish it was more of a darker wood to match the rest of my living room, but I can always fix it later.
Beautiful finish, easy to put together.

This coat tree fits beautifully right where I wanted it. It was very simple to put together (watch out for the screw lengths though...short/long!) No chips or dents in the wood, perfectly packaged and smelled like new furniture :-)
The umbrella holder part is meant more for taller umbrellas, so we just hang our kids' umbrellas from the smaller top hooks. Works great!
We love this coat tree!

Love this. Everything predrilled. Fit perfectly together. When putting either the base or the top together you just have to barely install the screws until you get all the screws installed then tighten up a little on each screw at a time as you rotate through the screws. That way the assembly can self align as the assembly is tightened. Mine is sturdy. I don't know what wood is used for the rack, but the stain has better coverage than some of the one coat paints I've used..
