Great updates to an already useful kitchen item

I used to have the 1st version of this grill a decade ago and lost it in a move. I was using the biggest GF grill but cleaning it was horrible, especially when the teflon stuff wore off. This is noticeably smaller but, if you read the measurements, it's still perfect for single-guy-cooking. It's exactly the size I remembered: will fit 2-3 beef patties (depending on the size), 3-4 pre-packaged salmon portions, 5-6 eggs or 2-3 10" tortilla burritos.
The updated ceramic non-stick surface is amazing and easy to clean; it's still early but I have high hopes. It'sd no longer just steel with non-stick coating.
The removable plates are awesome! I love the updated way of simply clicking them into place. They are held tight, not wobbly at all.
Takes about 5 minutes to heat up to 425, which is better than I thought considering other reviews I read. The cord does not get hot and is long enough to reach the outlet with some creative space coordination (it's the same length as my toaster).
The redesigned spill catcher is shaped to fit under the grill better while adding more volume to catch more stuff.
OH MY...the purple! it's a beautiful deep shiny purple that wipes clean easily.
I may never have to use my oven/stove again...unless I make something for more than just 1 or 2 people.
Ceramic plates are great!

I haven't had this long enough to rate "durability," but so far it's great.
-The ceramic plates clean up nicely and easily.
-It does fit 3 full size chicken breasts. If you think you need larger, there are plenty of reviews here that go into more detail about size. (the description says 75 square inches and one reviewer complains that it is only 11" x 7", which is 77 square inches)
-I forgot to set the tilt while grilling chicken and it did not make a mess (like another reviewer mentioned). All the grease went into the grease catch.
-I also remembered to set the tilt when grilling and did not notice any issue with anything sliding down...maybe if you use flat plates and close the top this could be a problem???
I bought this for the ease of cleaning the ceramic plates and the temperature control. So far, I am fully satisfied with those aspects and I have not experienced the issues that concerned me from reading other reviews.
It's very interesting.

This machine is interesting. It works pretty much as advertised. The top, with the cooking plate removed, becomes a broiler and hovers about 2 inches above the bottom plate. The bottom plate still remains hot and is temp controlled by the dial.
I haven't been able to find much in terms of usage guides. The info that comes with the grill is OK, but not very detailed. More is needed.
The grill looks good and gets hot pretty quickly. For storage, you can stand it up on its back end. It still takes up quite a bit of counter/cabinet space, just in a different direction. I'm not able to pick it up from the stand up position with one hand. The grill flops open. It def takes two hands to lift and control it. Probably not a very good too for young kids to try to maneuver.
I bought this model pretty much for it's large size. The smaller grills won't really acomodate two burgers, for example.
If I were going to buy again, I would certainly entertain the idea of buying another model. There are a few that are as big, or bigger, but not quite so gimmicky, for lack of a better term.
Very pleased with product

I bought this "like new" from the Amazon Warehouse and am very pleased with the product. Everything arrived in excellent shape except the box. All the parts and booklet were there. Many reviews mentioned food sticking to the ceramic plates; I circumvented that by wiping a light coating of Crisco on them before turning the grill on. I prefer that or a light coating of olive oil to canned spray oil for my cast iron pans and it worked well on this product, too. My husband cooked rib eye steaks, at first on 350 deg. then he upped the temperature to 425 deg. The size was perfect for 2 normal-sized rib eyes. It did take longer to cook them on the new grill compared with our older Foreman grill with non-removable plates, which I'm keeping, but this did an excellent job cooking the steaks. The main reason I bought this was for the broiling function which I will try out in the future on my next batch of crab cakes. My gas oven has the broiler close to the floor which neither of us like. My toaster oven broils okay but it's very hard to clean. As to cleaning the ceramic plates, I let them cool completely, rinsed off excess bits of food with the sink spray, then let them soak in soapy water for about 10 minutes. Then I gently washed them with a wash cloth before the final rinsing and drying. No problems. We love this and the price we paid through the Warehouse.
Premium Grill That Won't Disappoint You!!

I bought this George Foreman grill to replace another GF grill. Some history......My first GF grill, (GRP72CTB) was a fantastic grill and I retired it after 7 years.....wish I didn't. I replaced it with another GF Grill (GRP1060B) which I rarely used for two years. I was not impressed with this grill at all so I went on a quest to find the perfect replacement for my original grill. Well, I did find one! This new GF Grill (GBR5750S) is just like my original one with some nice changes. It has a broiler where the top locks in a raised position like my original one. The plates release with a press of a button and have handles on each end of the plate for safe handling. The plates stay mounted, unlike my second one where they had to be forced to stay in place. This new GF Grill has an on-off switch and is a bit larger than the original grill. The ceramic coated plates are a definite improvement. The temperature selector on top is also a very nice feature as are the indicator lights. One feature I miss is the locking tabs on the sides which kept the grill closed during storage. However, this new one does stand up nicely and stays closed when stored. The other item I noticed is that the plates are noticeably thinner than the original grill and the cord seems to be shorter and is located on the opposite side. This unit does include waffle plates and a lower broiler plate, yet to be used.

Some reviews have cited slower warmup times and longer cooking times for this grill. I have not found this to be the case. Using the cooking guide and temperature setting chart included, I cooked a perfect steak first time out! This is a premium grill and it cooks differently than the less expensive models. It also has a flip up rear leg that allows for the drainage of grease and it will flip down for times when the machine needs to be flat as in the case of cooking waffles.

I do have to note that I was disappointed with my second grill but then I paid about 1/3rd the price for it. It is true that you get what you pay for. In my quest for a replacement grill I looked at other models and other brands and the George Foreman Grill choices are far superior in all aspects to other grills out on the market. One confusing thing is the vast selection and number of GF grills that are offered on the GF Website. You really need to read through the specs and have a tape measure in hand to visualize the actual size of the grill in question. Looking at the pictures is not a true indicator of size. If more local stores had items on display, it would be easier to assess and select an appropriate grill. Amazon does a great service to its customers by providing comparisons to other grills, but do have a tape measure handy! Another nice change is the colors you can select from. I chose the Blue one.

So, as you can see I am pleased with my new GF Grill and I only hope it lasts as long, if not longer, than my original one! Buy it, you'll love it! I certainly do!

OK, an update on the waffle plates as I promised. At this point I am a bit disappointed with the waffle plates. It's very nice that these plates are large and make a decent sized waffle. What I did find was that the upper plate does not reach the same temperature as the bottom plate. Following the instructions in the GF Grill owners manual, I prepared the batter, set the temperature to 400F, and when it reached temperature, I filled the plates and closed the top. The cooking time listed was 5-7 minutes, or until golden brown. At the 5 minute point the I checked the progress and it was not yet ready. At the six minute point it was a very light gold so I removed it. The bottom however was a bit beyond golden brown. Had we left it in longer, the bottom of the waffle would have been way overdone. I made three sets of waffles and they all came out the same way. The bottom side of the waffles was consistently cooked more and darker than the top. So for a first attempt, I'm not sure if there is anything I can do differently. I'll need to purchase more maple syrup so I can keep experimenting!
