I can never understand why sun protective hats advertise 50+ SPF, yet have ventilation mesh that allows the sun direct access to your head. That defect aside, this appears to be a great sun hat. Big! Update: Wore the hat for the first time... Love it! Like bringing your own shade along. Very wind resistant. Please please put some kind of flap over the mesh air vents and it would be the perfect sun hat.

I know I must look strange out in the orchard or vineyard but it keeps the sun off my ears and neck. It is adjustable and it is very light.
In the late spring when we have the strong winds from the south I can keep it from blowing away.
Update: July 19, it is now HOT with heat index 105 and up to 110. This hat works, keeps the burning sun off your neck and ears. It is bearable on the tractor or mower. If you are in the heat and sun working you need this hat.

I knew when I bought this that it is a large and I have a small head. It is adjustable and I can adjust it to fit my bean head, but the mechanism that holds the elastic cord could be stronger. The elastic will retract if the adjustment is pulled on a bit. I've made it work. What I really like is the big brow. It really keeps the sun out of my eyes and off of my face. I bought this hat for that reason. The crown of the hat is thin and well ventilated. It does not stand up on its own but it's designed to fit close to the head so I'm ok with that. The back flap comes down to the nape of my neck and blouses enough for good coverage. I wish it was offered in a smaller size but it works for me in this blazing Midwest sun.

This hat looks really nice, but for women with an average sized head (~23-24"), it is way too big. The bucket part came down too far and blocked my vision. I was unable to adjust it with the pull cord to make it stay up on my head. I'll have to return it.

I love this hat. It's exactly what I wanted. Big and floppy and comfortable. Here in Colorado, it feels like it's 20 degrees cooler in the shade, and now I can bring the shade with me. I know I'm not going to win any fashion awards in it, but a) I don't care and b) it's actually fairly stylish for what it is and for the protection it provides. I am thinking of buying another so I have one in the car at all times.
