Once its assembled, it is very sturdy. One of the plastic covers did break, and i had to super glue it back in place, but that wasnt really all that bad.

Its too small for a game console though. Xbox1 hangs about an inch and a half off the front.
A Couple Small Problems...
Amazon CustomerDecember 20, 2017
This unit had a couple small problems.

First, one of the screws was hard to thread into the pre-tapped hole. This would be no problem, but it's a screw that holds the glass shelf into place. Over-tightening would be problematic.

Second, the grips that hold the glass shelves are fine, in most environments. But if they are in a place where they may get bumped -- like a classroom with kids -- they will easily shift. Dual rubber grips would have helped diminish this weakness.

Third, while the class shelves will hold most devices (e.g. small dvd players), they leave insufficient space in the back for cables. This is the biggest problem. I would recommend any cables going to components to have 90 degree connectors on them. Otherwise, many units will have to sit sideways on the shelf.
If you need a shelf and don't want to buy furniture-

When I wall mounted a TV in a small guest bedroom and needed a place to place a dvd player and other controls, this is what I added. It seems to be adequate for the purpose but I can't say how much weight it could take. I think my blue-ray player is less than a pound total and it hold it well. The plastic attachments on either side are a bit flimsy so don't over-tighten the screws that hold them on. I was concerned about them slipping so I tightened them pretty hard and the plastic cracked on every screw. The top and bottom end covers are supposed to allow the cords to go behind to be semi-concealed but my Amazon installer didn't do that.
Some assembly required, good luck!

Just got through installing shelf unit. Although it seems to be sturdy enough, it came with poor instructions in very fine print. I couldn't find what size drillbit to use for the sheet rock anchors, (very important when you're drilling a hole in your living room wall) which made the whole assembly process very tedious. What should've been a 10 minute job, turned into nearly an hour. Now that it is up, it is an attractive unit, which I believe will do the job nicely.
Wish the shelves were bigger

The shelves are way to small, they are not long enough or deep enough. Once you plug in the cables in the back of the components they push the component even more forward , leaving them hanging off the shelf. The shelves can be adjusted up and down but not front to back. Very nice mount, easy to assemble and nice looking. Measure your components before buying . Remember if your component is 4" deeper than the shelf, it will hang off the front 6" after you plug in the cables.
