It is well made and sturdy with a fatal flaw. It's tippy when used one handed. If only one side is held onto it will tend to tip over on that side. Unlike a walker or other safety rails where the base is wider than the handgrips, they are the same width which makes it unstable if used one handed. A simple design fix would have been to flare the base out slightly. It's not unexpected for someone to use a toilet safety rail one handed say to wipe, get dressed or to maneuver over to the sink.

Assembly of this device is almost literally a snap; with the exception of four wing nuts and hex bolts, all parts snap together. The wing nuts are large and are easy to tighten by hand. Height adjustment is also easy. I would suggest that you start at the lowest height and work your way up. At the higher heights, the toilet lid and seat may not stay up depending on the shape of the toilet tank. The sturdiness of the materials and design gives one confidence as to the safety of the device. The rail can be made portable in less than a minute for travel or storage by the simple removal of four 'e-clips'. While there may be less expensive devices available, given the quality of the product, it is well worth its price.

I was completely surprised how easy of an assembly it was. I assembled this with my mom in about 10-15 min. No screw driver needed. And it is VERY stable. This safety rail is a perfect transition for her between the walker and the toilet seat. She's fall onto the toilet seat abruptly from letting go of her walker if it wasn't for this rail. Thank you for the quality product.

Perfect easy installation... snap it together... Also folds if you pull out the pins for easy storage or traveling. My mother feels much more secure having this safety rail.
