Almost an All-in-One Cleaner, Love and Lessons
internet shopper✓ Verified Purchase•August 28, 2023
I purchased this as a Mother's Day gift to myself. :) I feel that it has already paid for itself in several ways: less maid service use, less cleaning product use, less fumes that impact asthma symptoms. It was fairly easy to learn how to use (YouTube videos helped). I like that it uses regular tap water and that I don't have to buy specific microfiber cloths (or other fabrics) to use it. I have a glass shower (full length glass wall and door) and this makes it easy to wash. I steam it, use a little bit of pressure as a wipe it down with a microfiber cloth and all the soap scum comes right off. (Compare this to have to use Comet, scour with a bristle brush (unable to reach certain corners), and then rinse off again, etc.). I had a few troubles and lessons learned: there is a safety lock to use so you don't burn yourself while changing attachments, I still prefer using a toilet bowl cleaner since steaming into a toilet bowl of standing water is too messy for me (I'm fine with using it on every other surface of the toilet), I still prefer using a little vinegar on the shower tiles and bath after steam cleaning the shower (to delay a red line of bacteria growth that can happen if not cleaning frequently enough). I've used it to clean a heavily greased stove top (a lot of recent cooking with butter), the corners of the clothes washer door, on baseboards, bathroom walls, etc. Surfaces that I never thought to clean before, but look better for it now! And my one buyer beware: this is not a dry steam completely. There is still a great deal of moisture with each cleaning- so I would still patch test it on anything that cannot handle moisture or water droplets. I also had a positive experience with customer service when requesting a replacement part (the hose cracked, exposing wires). Since then, it's been working well. Best gift to myself.
Excellent steamer great customer service

The steamer works very well,, all the attachments are very easy to put together and self-explanatory. It comes with extensions for carpets, tile, flooring , small corners, etc. I have used it for car rims for flooring for wall tiles in the shower steam cleaned my mattress and my carpets. You can pretty much use it on anything I've even used it on my wood floor with the cloth you will be amazed the dirt that comes off of your flooring with this machine.
Customer service was phenomenal every email they answered the same day. It's steams up within six minutes runs for about one hour of cleaning depending on what you're using it for but it does last for quite a while if you fill it up again all you have to wait is 6 minutes. I never leave reviews for this I am leaving a review because I am completely satisfied and you know the old saying you get what you pay for yes it's a little expensive but you get what you pay for. The steam this thing gives out exceeds any 100$ shark or standard mop. You can use this for commercial work also I am completely satisfied with this piece of equipment because of the ease of use, the steam it puts out,,, no waiting for it to heat up... end it cleans very very well if you take care of your equipment it will last a very long time, just like anything else.

The little steamer that could....

I was a little disappointed at first. I expected the steam vapor to all but take the paint off of my baked-on, caked-on grill. And I thought...this thing is not up for it. Then I had a reality check with a bottle of 409 and a scrubber. NOTHING was up for that train wreck of a neglected grill. So that was the beginning of a beautiful relationship...forgiveness. I'm sorry little steamer...not your fault at all.
Let's start with what it CAN do, which is everything.
I bought this steamer to sanitize my boat cushions since I found rodent leavings. The cushions are synthetic-ish cloth and they looked brand new when I was done. They also had no smell at all. This thing blows steam vapor, so they were not wet. They were moist at first and then dry in under 5 minutes. Amazing.
So I took it down to the boat. I have a 33 foot express cabin. Any boat owner knows, that at some point, the cabin and bilge have mildew growth and get moldy. I have battled mildew and mold since I bought her using killers, stain removers, scrubbing, white vinegar...blah blah blah. Steam. Steam is the answer. It MELTED the stubborn mildew stains out of the cabin linings, padding, etc. And...steam kills it so it won't grow back. My boat looks brand new and it is 12 years old.
My next step is to steam the bilge and try it on limescale in the bathroom. I will update afterward.
Other things you need to know.
It comes with great, useful accessories. Its fun to figure out what to do with them. The squeegee tool is really cool.
It is relatively safe. It is pretty hard to burn yourself with it. I did, but I was actually trying to see what it would take. I dunno, I'm weird like that. I mean...I wanted to give the best review possible.
It is light and easy to work with. I can carry it around with a full boiler with no problem. I am a 5'6" tall, female and horribly out of shape. Must be the constant sitting and snacking.
It heats up very quickly.
If you're think about buying a Shark or some other model marketed by Bed Bath and Beyond, let me help you understand the differences. I bought a Shark for my parents. It is a good product. If you want to sanitize rather than really clean, it's for you. It also has a price-point of less than $150. I used it to sanitize my parent's house after my dad was diagnosed with cancer. Like I said, it is a good product and does it's job, but I had to work pretty hard along with it to get half of the results that I wanted. The difference is it's capabilities.
It takes very long intervals of holding the steam on a surface to work. This can leave the surface wet.
The steam also isn't very hot, so additional wiping and scrubbing is necessary.
You have to refill it constantly.
You have to wait quite a long time for it to heat up.
Its a pain in the ass to use. Clunky and burdensome. The Dupray follows you around like a puppy dog.
I realize that Dupray's products are expensive. But for $100 more than you would pay for a Shark, you could get the household version of a Dupray.
Closing comment... I don't know how I ever lived without it.

Don't go cheap
Johnny B✓ Verified Purchase•June 4, 2023
I have learned over the years that when it comes to floor care, cheap is cheap. I only buy the higher end stuff. Although a $1K is a bunch, it works so well. The temperature is what allows good cleansing. I tried to use my girlfriends $125.00 machine. HAH what a waste of time. Now, it is true that can afford just about anything. But, I worked as a janitor when I was in high school. I learned from a black man that showed me that a good machine makes all the difference. This machine gets hot and gets the job done. I cleaned the grout in a 1500 sq ft floor and couldn't have done the task with a lesser machine. At times I wis that I didn't but the $2K machine but that one may be overkill. Certainly not for a professional service.
Cleans Great

I'm glad I decided to buy the Tosca over a lower grade steamer, like the Dupray Neat. So far I used the Tosca to clean grout joints, and it worked great. The additional steam pressure and temperature over the lower grade units is worth the cost.
