This product does not work. I tried it with both Mac and PC. I request a refund and received zero response. If you buy this product know that you are giving this company $12 for absolutely nothing in return.
Not recognized on 2 PCs

The adapter came in a plastic bag without a manual or driver disk.
Tried it on a Windows 10 desktop and a Windows 8.1 laptop. The behavior was consistent. Plugging in the adapter alone did nothing - the device was not recognized by Windows. Plugging a cable and camera into the adapter disabled my mouse on the desktop and trackpad on the laptop. Device Manager didn't show IEEE 1394 devices, even after installing the 32 and 64-bit legacy drivers from Microsoft as suggested by some internet sources.
Edit - +1 star because the customer service was friendly and issued a timely refund without requiring a return.
