This leather valet box was exactly as described and shipped and arrived quickly. The leather is higher quality than I anticipated, and it really makes for a sharp and attractive style. The box itself is a weighty piece, obviously made with quality materials that will stand up to use over time. This is better than I hoped it would be! Very attractive, clean, with no scratches or dings. In perfect condition. This will make a nice gift!

A nice box. Heavier than I had expected, and built well. The magnetic clasp is strong and secure. The larger sections of the box are useful for keeping spare straps, tools, or a few more watches on pillows.

The box did smell a little funky at first, from the glue and materials used in the lining I think, but it aired out nicely. Also, the pockets on the lid are too small to be very useful, but they can hold a folded microfiber cloth, if you can manage to stuff it in. I suppose it could hold credit cards or photos well.

Overall a nice box, glad I purchased.

Recently purchased this valet to replace an old one. I like the very clean appearance of this valet. It is roomy inside and has large compartments to hold a variety of items. I really like the flap on the lid which can hold pictures, passports, etc.

Only change I would like to see would be the the straps holding the lid. They work as intended but are in the way most of the time and must be folded in when closing the box.

Outside of that, I thought this was a very good purchase for the money.

Update (have been using for 1 yr 4 months): Still works great and nothing has come apart.

Its been a little over a week now since I have had this product. Beautiful all the way (pros) -
a. I was hoping there was no green tint as someone mentioned. No green tint at all on mine.
b. I was hoping there was no bad smell. No smell whatsoever on mine.
c. I was hoping that it would not be flimsy. Looks well built for the price.
d. I was hoping the nylon pieces to hold the lid from falling back would not be a pain. No problemo.
e. I was hoping the alignment on the lid and the base would match. They are a perfect match on mine.
f. I was hoping this was too good to be true. It is truly good.

Cons:
a. The dimensions mentioned are accurate but somehow I thought it would appear bigger.
b. The magnet on the latch is a little too powerful.
c. The cushions for the watches are a tight fit in the compartments. I have already gotten rid of them.
d. The lid wants to close down after its opened. That tells me its being held by glues, cardboard and, possibly, cloth. I hope this one has a long life.

Overall, for the price and perceived quality, I would say this is my best buy so far this year.

As a watch collector, I've accumulated several watch boxes and display cases over the years, paying as much as $200 for a simple case. I purchased this Tech Swiss brown leather case in July 2012 with expectations that it would be like most of the others: flimsy, cheap and not much to look at. Instead, it was high quality and a great value for the $40 I paid.

PROs: nice constuction inside and out, sturdy easy open-n-close magnetic clasp I can operate with one hand...which is nice because I usually have a watch in my other hand when I need to access it, two small leather pockets inside the top which are great for storing warranty cards, flat watch bands and extra links. The two forward compartments make room for my odd sized watch cuffs, pocket watches and smaller cases.

CONs: As someone else noted, there are no locking hinges to hold the lid open, however, after four months of use, the ribbons have stretched slightly enough that the lid now stays open on its own.

Overall, for this price, I am very impressed with the quality, design, look and feel and functionality of this case. I keep my best and most valuable 18K gold watches in this case. It is the first Tech Swiss product I've owned, but I liked it so well that I just ordered the Tech Swiss pocket watch storage case in hope that it will be of comparable quality.

COMPARISONS: This case is as good as--and probably better than--the two Wolf Designs watch cases I bought for four times the money. The inside leather is almost as nice as the leather inside a very expensive Tourneau case I own.
