Good generator inlet - exactly as described
D. Richardson•August 11, 2017
Arrived as expected. Delivery was fast and good. Product is exactly as described and seems durable. It was very easy to connect to 10g stranded wire. It would be even easier if I had used solid wire. No issues at all and works as expected.
A few additional comments.... you need to think about your enclosure for this. I couldn't find an junction box that looked deep enough. Most of the deep boxes aren't deep enough for comfort. I used a 4x4x4" PVC junction box and use a hole saw to cut openings for the inlet plug and for the wires to enter. I mounted the inlet plug in the removable cover of the box. If you don't have a hole saw any other kind of boring bit for wood should work on PVC. Rather than using the supplied screws which would need nuts or a threaded collar I drilled pilot holes and used sheet metal screws into the PVC cover.
It all worked out well and is a clean install. Wasn't hard but took a little time and you need to have the tools. Consider if it's worth saving a few bucks to do this yourself vs. buying an inlet box. They seem to run about $50+, and most of those have a door or flap to cover the plug. I spent about $10 in parts + this plug, and maybe 30 mins to install it. It worked great for me, but consider your time and what tools you need or have. Buying a $50 inlet me be a better option for some.

haven'r used yet, will be part of generator setup, appears to be good quality so far, having the hole size would have been helpful before I bought , but it is what I had hoped
Good quality product
