I bought this glider & ottoman for our nursery for our new baby. When it arrived I had my husband assemble it and he did it without any hiccups, it took him probably 45 minutes or so. He is handy, however. :) I'm actually writing this review a year after purchasing and I'm happy to report that this chair has held up beautifully over the year and gets used and abused daily. My son had severe reflux that took a while to control so he spit up on everything, including all over this chair and ottoman multiple times but it's so easy to clean up! I found a little glass cleaner and a damp wash cloth will clean almost anything off of this chair - mine still looks brand new! The only little complaint I have about this chair is that the side pockets have stretched out quite easily with putting books in there and they are kind of saggy now, but that's probably mostly user error for stuffing them too full.

Very sturdy little chair. I'm a tiny boy and can't really give a review based on weight capacity, but the primary person that uses this at our house is my brother, which is roughly 320 lbs+, and uses it on a daily basis. Still functional and no cracks or breaks.
When you're sitting in the chair and start rocking, it's as if you're in a normal rocking chair. The ottoman sways with you, so it's quite comfortable.
Typically these are used in nurseries, but we have ours in our home library and it looks perfectly fine and not out of place. So, I wouldn't limit this chair to just a nursery.

This chair started to squeak about 4 months after I got it and you have to use oil regularly on the joints to fix. It actually left little metal scraping dust that stained my carpet!! Just today, a little over 1 year old it broke. I was sitting and not even rocking and it just tilted to the side and down suddenly. When I turned It over one of the joints slipped out of place! I popped it back in but it popped out again the next time I sat down. I'm not big, only 145 lbs and my baby is now 30 lbs. I will be contacting the manufacturer about this defect. A chair should last longer than one year
