I bought an adult colouring book for my Mom last year and was going to buy coloured pencils too, but i read reviews and there was this great group of people who all wrote about their experiences with different things, pencils, crayons, and thet gel pens.. i had no experience with gel pens at all, but I rely heavily on reviews, especially in depth, photos- attached type reviews :) I wish I knew who all I read that day, I would love to thank them and give them loads of credit. Mom *loves* the gel pens & it was so great to see this constantly busy lady actually sitting down for hours at a time and colouring this amazing book with these truly beautiful pens.
I wish I could give better detail about then... my Mom was dx'd with Alzheimer's about three months after her bday (when i bought the pens), and it hit fast. She continued to enjoy the pens throughout most of last year, & only one ran out completely - but it was used to colour almost an entire (what is the size of like lined school type paper, 11 by 14, maybe?) page, so we will need to somehow buy a refill for that one.
It's hard to leave my emotion out of the review, but everything that has given her happiness (these have by working consistently, not adding to frustration, etc) or helped her get out of bed and use that creative part of her beautiful heart & mind that is just betraying her? That makes me so very glad. We are huge book lovers and she can't even read any more b/c her short term memory went so fast, she can't remember what she read yesterday :( . But COLOURING, and having great tools to do it with? No great memory is really needed. And using the creativity center of the brain is supposed to be helpful for Alz patients.. These pens are gorgeous, I will try and scan some of her pics if I can remember, the colours are vivid and the "sparkly" ones are so fun. I have used three in my book now and just really enjoy them. I am buying her a new set now so she can have a full new set and i'll take the originals, so that is why my review took so long. I recommend them, probably not a surprise :)

I have limited experience using gel pens but have long admired pieces done by people in my coloring groups who used them. I debated between going with an all-glitter set or a mixed set. This set seemed like the best of both worlds for the price. Unlike other reviewers who had problems, my delivery arrived without any damage to the container or the pens. The plastic container is packed tightly into a square box which prevented any damage. As for the pens, so far they are working to various degrees of success. I've found one pen that was less than 1/2 full, and some do need to be primed on a piece of scratch paper before the ink flows. I do like how they don't bleed through the back side. I just got two-sided books as a Mother's Day gift, so I'll most likely hold on to them and just use pencils and these pens. Having them mixed in one container is going to drive me crazy, so I'm going to separate by type and store in divided cups to make it easier to find what I'm looking for.

Unfortunately the unit came with colors smeared everywhere inside from leaking pens! Box it came in wasn't damaged or dented, just looks like someone slapped a couple hands full of gel pens in. Lids sort of on, but I cannot imagine how anyone could have missed the lack of quality- let alone useability. I actually have them sitting in storage because I'm afraid to donate them to kids for safety issues. Real shame. Was really hoping for some basic quality.
UPDATE: Without any prompting from me, company contacted (via Amazon provided email). To- Now sit down for this part -to APOLOGIZE & ask if there was anything they could do to make me happy, based on my negative review. Took them 3 tries; as I ignored the first two (figuring if the junk they sent was indicative of their quality then what's the point except to warn others). Well, no ridiculous proof needed for them to believe me, no "return them, buy a new set, THEN get refund on bad set once they receive it & I'm out another order and shipping amount" game. Nope. They went above and behind, offered to simply send a replacement set. No new shipping, no games. What I received was a completely different animal. All quality, no leaks, great colors, no missing, broken or inside leaks in canister. So I now must amend to a 5! Giving the benefit of the doubt that this IS what is sent to all orders. Just know the container is flimsy, not used for regular storage; (which I had hoped for because it shows all easily grabbable pens and would be both terrific storage and useful for when using pens). Because of their follow up & persistence I have amended to a 5, where it likely is a 4 because first one did after all, get sent & meh storage. Prefer container not meant as storage to be mentioned in description. I'd have still purchased knowing that and been happy. But again, I had not complained, (& this wasn't like it was hundreds of dollars being spent with them; just a regular mid range first purchase with them, hundreds with Amazon & their other vendors), a vendor noticed and CARED. How often can a customer say that nowadays?! The pens are gorgeous, few meh colors, mostly perfect. Only a few skips but I feel that may be due to my being left handed - so far nothing colors my hand as I'm working with them either. Big plus! This company defines great people.Very happily surprised with renewed faith that decent companies (that don't make a new customer jump through hoops to be believed and more than satisfied) do exist. I'd buy from them again for this product: for the customer service personnel, final product beyond expectations especially given the night and day difference from the original set received. Replacement received was timely with no extra shipping charges. Hopefully the QA person was fired, & that this set is now the actual correct product for all, not just sent for poor reviews. The first set sent seems almost like a bad joke.

I bought these for adult coloring books, they are great!!! I was afraid they wouldn't work well for coloring but I was happily wrong. They color beautifully! I would have given them a 5 star but there were a few that didn't flow as well as the others and 2 that leaked ink and I had to throw them out. But just a few bad ones out of 100 is pretty darn good! If you are looking for gel pens for coloring get these, you will love them and have a great time coloring!
When I originally bought adult coloring books I also bought colored pencils and some thin markers, since receiving these gel pens they are all I use! If I hadn't used the colored pencils and markers I would have taken them back. Gel pens are all I use now, all my pictures come out BEAUTIFUL using my new gel pens. I also love the different textures like the glitter, metallic and neon, they make for beautifully colored pictures!! Get them, you won't be disappointed!!
