I got my magnets yesterday! I order two of them lol i wish I would have ordered the eye nut with them though I ended up having to go to fastenal for it and they are expensive almost more than the magnet lol. But that doesn't matter now I can go magnet fishing. I didn't find anything cool yet but I had a good time wyoming is still froze mostly so I had limited spots. You know the heavy steel cable that holds the docks in this magnet pulled it out from under a couple rocks and out of the water lol that's nuts

This magnet isn't as terrifying powerful as some people describe, but it has a decent pull at short range. I'm using three of them to pull a door closed tight. In my application the magnet doesn't touch the steel plate directly; it only gets close. (If all three magnets touched directly, the door would take a real good shove to open.)

My magnets each came with a steel circular plate about the size of the magnet's face. The plate didn't have a hole for a screw, so I didn't use it, but it was nice that they added it. I used 2" OD 1/4" ID fender washers instead.

Note: for the round steel plates they provided (and the washers I used), the magnet doesn't grip the disk lined up center to center. It grips about half the disk, due to how the magnetic poles are arranged. So if you use this to pull a door tight, as I did, don't mount the magnet and steel directly across from each other. Offset them about half the diameter of the magnet. You'll have to experiment a bit. It's just as well it doesn't grip center to center: you'd have a heck of a time getting them apart.

They description suggests a #8 screw to hold the magnet. You can go with a thicker screw. I found it *hard* to screw these down - the magnet pulls the screwdriver sideways, hard, making it difficult to keep it seated in the screw as you turn it. Really frustrating. Don't overtighten the screw - the magnet is brittle.

Came when expected with no issues. Packing material was bubblewrap and plastic, and a pain to get off, but not unreasonable.

I purchased one of these magnets in January and it worked so well that I purchased a second one. The second magnet that arrived , while sold as and labeled the same as the first, was not of the same quality. The second magnet was not machined as well as the first one , the chamfer was not deep enough so the bolt didn't fit properly and stuck out from the bottom not allowing me the purchase on objects that I was hoping for. Overall it's pretty good but I had to modify the bolt to fit which I didn't have to do with the first one.

This is an exceptionally strong magnet. Use it with caution. I placed it onto a steel door & quickly realized that it cannot be pulled off. A large rubber mallet was required to pound it off the steel. When I used the magnet for the purpose I bought it for, it accomplished the task I intended it to be used for. Be cautious with your fingers/hand using the magnet around ferrous metals. Be extra cautious when dealing with 2 of these bad boys. It easily can break your fingers if they get in the way.

My 2nd purchase of these CM Magnets. They have excellent design qualities and multipurpose use. That was initially the ideal but now that I've realized the capability of these magnets you can't help but also want to experiment with their force abilities. In the grand design of things I still picture getting 2 very strong similar types like this one and build an improvised levitation holder for something. Just haven't gotten around yet to determining how best to use this one aside from deep water metal fishing.

Well made and adequately forceful. This one won't cause any panic for you but you MUST keep them away from any children, kids, or teens because it's only a toy to a point. These magnets contain RAW RADIATING MAGNETIC STRENGTH!!
