I ordered this to crimp 3.0mm aluminum ferrules. The label says cavity #4 is up to 3.5mm wire rope. My supplier delivered 4.0mm wire rope by mistake and I had to make do. It actually worked! Easily crimps 4.0mm wire rope aluminum ferrules. The technique I used is to put one lever on the floor between my feet. The other lever in one hand. Insert the looped wire rope, ferrule and thimble into the cavity with the free hand and gently lower the lever to secure the arrangement. Then press down on the upper lever with both hands. No slipping, no wobbling! Easy!

I've used this to set up wires for 1/16th and 1/8th trellising. The handles on this tool aren't as long as a previous one I bought from HD. But compared to my previous crimper this one is by far better. The shorter handles mean it's not as heavy and you can control your crimping better. The larger holes are at the based of the jaws by the hinge, right where you want them for maximum pressure. And, it's pretty smooth to use. All in all, this was a great buy and much better than the crap I paid through the nose for from the big box hardware store.

This iCrimp tool is fantastic. It is very heavy duty and well made. I have used it for both copper and aluminum ferrules and it does a superb job. The jaws are nicely machined and finished; the handles are longer to give more leverage, so the crimp is tight and holds well. A very good tool and I recommend it fully.
