Works for Amcrest, but PS tip longer
Tom Swift✓ Verified Purchase•August 9, 2017
I am using this to power Amcrest IP cameras and works great. For Amcrest users be advised that this product out of the box has a male power adapter that's tip is about twice as long as the tip Amcrest uses so it will hang out a bit. I dont really want to use an add on adapter; maybe a shorter tip model is or will be available?
Great solution, good value

Been running several Pi3 Model B's from these for past few weeks with no problems. Technically, the Pi requires 12.5W of power for all functions to work properly, but in the right applications this will work fine. Be wary if you plan to hook up a bunch of peripherals like USB devices, camera, etc.
Tech support from POE-Texas / WiFi-Texas is excellent.

DOA, passes ethernet traffic, but that's about it. 0V measured on the output jack...
Update 7/7/2013:
After talking to Wifi-Texas support, it turns out that the splitter I received is v3. This version works with POE devices implementing mode A (power on pins 1,2 - 3,6), where as both of my switches (and most I encountered) implement mode B (power on pins 4,5 - 7,8).
Currently, I am waiting for replacement, v5, which I understand does both. I will update this review when I receive it.
Wifi-Texas, please update your description to include the modes your device supports.
Update 7/10/2017
Received replacement part (V5) - works as advertised. Five stars for good customer service.

Has enough power to run a Raspberry Pi 3/b
The Retro Video Game Zone✓ Verified Purchase•April 4, 2017
Has enough power to run a Raspberry Pi 3/b. Using a 24 port Ubiquiti POE switch this unit provides the 2 amps the pi needs, and I dont get the 'lightning bolt' icon on the screen when using a too low power power-packs. Runs Gigabit just fine.
I knocked a star off because I would've liked to receive the correct version of the product immediately

Bought this to power an iPad with a standard 802.3af PoE wall wart injector and when I plugged it in, it did not work. Then I tried it on a PoE switch although it worked at first, when I came into work on Monday it had stopped working and the iPad's battery was dead. After contacting the seller, they very quickly sent me a replacement that has worked perfectly for a few days now. I knocked a star off because I would've liked to receive the correct version of the product immediately, but they definitely took care of me, so I recommend the seller.
