Just Ok

At work they have a butter bar and every morning for the past n years i have been using their spreader. Every time I always said to my self i have to get these, they are much better than the back of spoon improvised device i have been using for 100 years. So here is the review:, These are NOT as good spreaders at work. 1) overall they weigh less than the work ones. so the spreader from work ones feels more solid. 2) the metal blades are definitely a thinner metal than the spreaders at work. when scraping the butter from the tub these blades give slightly and actually you can feel them move in their riveted handles. I took another look at the spreaders from work and the handles are molded plastic, which also has a fatter grip. i tried to see the brand on the blade but it was blank. I think the riveted handles are another reason why the blade gives a little when using. Am i going to throw these away.. nope, am i going to continue using them...yes. It is just that every day when i use the butter bar at work, i daydream how i am going to steal these spreaders.
Handwash only.

Handwash and dry immediately after use.. That's as simple as it gets. The price is right. You can throw them away after a few picnics without guilt.
Other brands at four times the price don't have this limitation. I could mention them, but then you'll never see this review. Don't lick the spreader., it has a serrated edge.

Good spreader

These knives are good for slicing small things such as fruit and applying a spread to bagels. I like having the serrated edge to help with cutting. They seem sturdy and should last for many years. I like our Cutco spatula spreader best, but it costs a lot more and the handle on one melted in the dishwasher, so these could become my new favorite.
One is good but four are better!

Very good quality steel. I used a file and a motorized knife sharpener to put an edge on the back side. Now all are all purpose tools. One of the handles roughened up and lost some of it's color (on one side only) after passing thru the dishwasher . I rubbed it with oil after smoothing the wood with a oscillating sander. Other than the difference in color it works great and passes thru the washer without any additional fading or roughening. The steel used is harder than the usual soft stainless and holds an edge very well.
A big cup of coffee with a section of Farmer's Sausage (from Sam's Club) and my handy double edged utility knife/ spreader and a quick B'fast/snack is done and gone............not exactly like the knights of old eating with their knives/daggers but it works for me!

They are fine for spreading condiments

I use these far more than I expected. They are fine for spreading condiments, slicing pie, and even digging the last bit of ice cream out of the container.
I deducted two stars because of the wooden handles. Even though they were never soaked in dishwater, they soon needed sanding and refinishing. Tung oil should be suitable for this task.
