Once you get used to it, it's better than a backpack

This was a bit bigger than I expected, but it works well and is surprisingly comfortable when I go out for long walks or short hikes. I thought that it would hurt my back, but having the weight on my hips is better for my back than having the weight across my shoulders. And having the weight there seems to help my posture in an odd way. With a water bottle in this, you kind of stand up straighter.

I like that there is enough room for a few snacks (for me and my dog), my keys, my wallet, and a water bottle. I feel more comfortable having those things in here as opposed to my pockets -- less of a chance of losing them. And if I've use a shorter bottle, it doesn't slip out or feel like it's going to come out. I've tested a few bottles and found the biggest one that I can use without it slipping. I think it's about 20 oz, so a decent size.

This pack was something I had to get used to, because I typically use a small backpack, but I do like that this keeps the weight off my shoulders. It feels more comfortable now that I've gotten used to it. I like to wear it more on my side as opposed on my back like a fanny pack, but it's easy to move around to find the spot that feels best. I do switch it around so that one side doesn't get too strained. It is nice not to have a backpack because the straps would always make me feel hotter. This helps me feel cooler on hot days. I think you could also put a cooling pack in it and have that against your back to help in the summer.

It seems really well made and so far I haven't had any of it break or tear. I've used maybe a dozen times so I'll change my review if anything changes. I really like this and recommend it as an alternative to a backpack.
Pack hits the sweet spot, with several slight reservations

LOVE the sandwich-sized pockets (that's plural, and there are several smaller pockets tucked away on this pack, too). I dinged this one star for two reasons: the belt is short compared to other packs of this sort that I own or have encountered, and I like having a enough extra belt to run all the way back to the pack on each side of the buckle because, when locked into place with addition plastic slip locks, they provide places to hang windbreakers and shirts without having to tuck between the pack belt and my pants. The second reason is that the bottle holder could benefit from an elastic loop to help secure bottles, especially plastic flasks.
Nice pack

I bought this to take running with me. I carry a pistol and it fit in the pack, but I didn't like how much movement there was while running. So I wear it under the pack, and use the pack to carry the bear spray, phone... I even loop my dogs flexi leash thru it. (I would probably run faster if I carried less weight) so far it has held up really well, and kept my things dry in the rain (except for the things in the small front pocket with the vertices zip) I'm glad I purchased it, and it seems to be holding up well. The straps don't stay sinched down well, but I bet if I washed it, they would stay put. A lot of times those kinds of straps have a waxy coating on them, so once you wash it, the straps get more grip.
Best fanny pack EVER!!!

This is perfect for hiking! So many little pockets and attaching areas! Right now Im using it for picking blackberries. Ive set a cut in half water bottle (extra large) in the large pouch...just to keep the sides rigid after I plunk a few wild blackberries in there. Then I have a pair of clippers in the water bottle holder (for the massive amount of sticker bushes running wild in my woods). Then I have two sim cards and a set of tether keys in the other pocket for my game camera that I check about every seven days. Last I have hung my machete to it by the belt. I dont go in the woods without the machete because we have copperheads around and these woods grow like a rain forest so I have to constantly keep cutting my path clear. One berry season is over I will add a collapsible cup for my pups to drink from, the water bottle, some poo bags and my car keys for longer hikes. Im just love all the pockets and that its cute!
It could hold so much more though...its just for the berry season that I only use it this way. I have to say I use it pretty hard too....the sticker bushes that run through the blackberry bushes are no joke...I have to wear welding sleeves and leather gloves to keep my arms from being annihilated. It doesn't seem to get trapped by stickers like my legs, arms and gloves do but I definitely push, pull and drag it through a bunch of vicious bushes that sometime I can only get through by sheer brute force and hacking with machete. So Im impressed by the entire thing.
I like it so much I might just buy a few more in case they ever stop selling them...cuz this thing is awesome!
Great Little Pack

Love this little fanny pack with water holder! I've used it 3 times so far on local hikes and it feels great. It can hold a lot! I pack mine with chap stick, sunscreen, tissue (smallest outer pocket), small bug repellent spray, keys & whistle (middle pocket), and snacks, money, credit cards and my iPhone 6 (largest inner pocket)...and there is still room for more! The beverage holder easily holds a bottle of water or water containers from 16 oz - 32 oz. If you don't want to hold a day pack over your shoulders, this is the best next option to make sure you have all the important essentials but still have your hands free to use your trekking poles, take pictures, etc.
