I have had this trimmer for just one day and am happy with it so far. There was a major surprise the first time I used it that I never saw in any of the reviews: As stated in the reviews, it took over 8 hours to fully charge the 3.0Ah battery. When I used the trimmer, the battery lasted about 45 minutes at the low-power setting. I did briefly test the high-power setting to compare. Suddenly without warning, the trimmer completely shut down. Each time I tried to use again, It ran for just over one second before shutting down again. I charged the battery for about one hour, tried using it again, only to have it shut down again. I was ready to send the trimmer back to Amazon for a refund, but decided to charge the battery again for about 6 hours to see what would happen. Although the battery was not fully charged, the trimmer did function well so I could use it for an additional 20 minutes needed to complete my trimming job. THIS INFORMATION NEEDS TO BE MADE AVAILABLE FOR OTHERS TO BENEFIT FROM IT. BEST TO FULLY CHARGE THE BATTERY BEFORE USING AND HAVE A BACK-UP AVAILABLE IF NEEDED. THE SUDDEN SHUTDOWNS WHEN THE BATTERY IS LOW PREVENTS THE TRIMMER FROM BEING USED WITH A LOW-CHARGED BATTERY. I AM USED TO HAVING OTHER PRODUCTS TO CONTINUE UNTIL THERE IS NO POWER LEFT, RATHER THAN HAVE IT SUDDENLY SHUT DOWN.

I'm really disappointed in B&D for this. The battery power and life are pretty good. It's light, functional.... but I went through an entire spool of line doing my yard one time. It has the easy feed button on it, but you never actually press it because it is always feeding automatically. Even when you don't cut anything!!!! You can see in the video, press the trigger, lose an inch of line. Ridiculous! At $8 per spool of replacement line, this thing is just not cost effective to run.
Also, this is the second one of these I bought hoping for manufacturer defect, but alas I think this is working exactly the way it's designed to.

Not impressed. Maybe mine is not performing but my 8 year old Worx 18v is faster while this one just slaps the grass in the high speed setting. I fully charged the battery as well. Another issue is the trim setting. The Worx allows you to tilt the trimmer head to walk behind it while you trim the lawn edge. This one has you at an angle with limited visibility so the line is not as straight. Not happy with the performance of a way newer unit that seems inferior...
