I have used this trunk a few times. It will hold one Full coverage helmet. I have used it to store the Full coverage helmet on overnighters. I have also used it to put my rain suite and jacket. The quality is fairly good for ABS. THIS IS NOT a take it out of the box and mount it Tom your bike. You will need to devise a plate for inside the trunk. Drilling will be necessary. As all Motorcycle riders love to do, you will find yourself making it better, such as some water proofing around the lid with some thin rubber. This is not a HD trunk! If you are a solo rider this is great economical addition. I have a quick release base on mine. The lock is not real great, however I figured a way to keep it more secure.

The trunk arrived in perfect condition and on schedule. The finish is very good and the included hardware is of good quality but it would be helpful to at least know what the intended use of each is. For example there is a separate bag of bolts for the top rack. I decided to not install the rack although it is of good quality. A square and wide rack with bars would be the ideal base. My rack was a cnc factory fitting rack made for my bike. I decided to spread the load and increase the number of attachment points by using a 3/8 plywood base. I attached the plywood base first then drilled through the trunk and plywood for a total of 10 attachment points. It made the trunk very stable when leaning against the backrest. I cut the styrofoam packing from the shipping container to fit the thin black foam trunk liner. It made carrying items quieter. The trunk also does not make noise when riding.

I would recommend this trunk if you don't expect it to be a custom fit. It is well made although I suggest you check the hinge pins to be sure they are pressed in place. I expect good service for my light to medium use.

First off - let me say I chose this product for the price. I didn't expect a rugged, long lasting product. I needed something to pack a laptop and a change of clothes on a 125cc scooter for commuting to work on Washington State Ferries. It arrived today and was packaged well, but the install was a bit of a struggle. I had to re-drill mounting holes to get it to line up with my rack - no problem except that leaves the existing holes to patch. Once mounted to my rack, I began to install the included rack to the lid of the trunk. Here the holes are NOT pre-drilled - I found this odd since I had the option to purchase similar trunks without the rack, but wanted the rack specifically. The rack itself is well-made, but mounts onto the rather thin plastic of the trunk itself, meaning any real weight on it would most likely break the plastic trunk. I took awhile to find the keys taped to the inside of the box (seems they should have been inside the trunk with all the other parts. Finally mounted the backrest - not that I need it but it might make it easier to contain a small lunch cooler strapped onto the seat behind me. The latch itself seems secure when locked, but if simply latched closed it doesn't appear to stay closed fully. As it stands now, I think it will work for the short term, but I have no confidence the product will last long. It certainly won't withstand a drop or impact. The seat does still open, and I can indeed fit a full-face helmet in the trunk.

REALLY like this trunk Will fit 2 full Size helmets, has a lock and a rack On Top, the backrest is nice for the wife contors around her to keep in place... ( WHAT a shame...lol) installation Was easy. although i drive a 04 Yamaha vstar 1100 so i had to drill holes, because it did Not fit my application of the bike. the trunk Sets On an already existing luggage rack on the bike. If your looking to add a light inside or outside of the luggage rack it has room to do so. there are no reflectors on it either. which you can purchase those on ebay they have different colors. i am placing a 12 volt power outlet in mine for cell Phone chargers.

For under $100 this gives some extra storage and it is nice to be universal fit. The molded black finish doesn't give a great look but again it is under $100 so what can you expect. Latch is simply to keep honest people honest and could be popped open very easily in a few seconds. I also found that when on my Heritage Softail the leather bags do not open more then about 35% so I am limited what I can carry in the bags now. It is convenient to have the trunk but all things considered I think I will be taking it off my bike and keeping only if I am making long distance trips that I really need a lot of storage for luggage etc.
