Great image, badly accessorized

Both lenses individually, and also the combination of the two together, provide excellent image quality. Helpful to note that the macro focus is close enough that a phone's autofocus features will likely be overwhelmed, meaning the focus is dependent on moving toward or away from the subject instead of adjusting on the device.
My main critique is the caps for the lens kit. There is a cap for the front of the wide, and a cap for the back of the macro. That's it. The lenses are shipped screwed together in combination and have the two caps in place, but travelling them without this configuration would necessitate having at least some of the glass exposed, far from ideal. For the price I would think two additional caps (front of macro and back of wide) would be highly affordable, but i guess profit margin is king. C.R.E.A.M. I am glad of the purchase but will have to be cautious in use.

super easy to use, was snapping breathtaking pics in no time! my wife thought i had bought a DSLR from the quality of the photos. if you're thinking of getting into macro photography, where you can not only capture but also SEE things you couldn't before, this is an excellent starting point!
A bit of pin-cushion
Peter J. Blau✓ Verified Purchase•June 13, 2023
For the price, the image quality is quite decent. Since this is a multi-purpose, compound lens there are some optical sacrifices, like a bit of pin-cushion distortion at the edges of the frame in the Macro mode. The nice thing for nature hobbyists, like flower finders and rock collectors, is that you can photograph both the location of your find and capture a close-up of the specimen quickly and easily. The accessories that come along with the kit are handy as well . I like the clip on illuminator for taking bright closeups lit from different angles.
A solid base product benefitted by useful add-ons... but it won't replace your DSLR.

Overall:
A great product for the money, when combined with an existing intermediate skill level with the basics of photography and some established experience with phone macro photography specifically. A meaningful upgrade from cheaper lenses, and a great compliment to more powerful lenses that lack the Xenvo's high image quality and increased depth-of-field. This will likely be my primary phone macro lens until I decide to shell out for a Moment, an Exolens, or a dedicated camera.
Pros:
- This is a meaningful upgrade to the "cheapo" introductory-level 3-in-1 kits you see all over Amazon, and even outcompetes Apexel's professional offering in the same price bracket.
- The wide aperture gives this lens a wider depth of field than I'm used to with clip-on lenses. Very good.
- Edge distortion is minimal most of the time, and often unnoticeable.
- Retains subject color and clarity.
- The 15x Macro is an improvement over the more-common 10x and 12x variants.
- The accessories are actually very useful; the light in particular has been a lifesaver when I needed a little extra brightness boost (though I do mean "a little"... it basically does the job but I'll probably upgrade, and soon).
Cons:
- The further-back working distance is hard to adjust to, even if you'd used clip-on lenses before.
- The lens is necessarily bulkier than a lot of clip-on macro lenses on the market. While this benefits image quality, it does mean that the product is a little unwieldy, and the subsequently hyper-robust phone clip covers on a noticeable-though-not-unforgivable chunk of the phone screen. Not a pleasant setup to carry around or maneuver... but still worlds better than a dedicated camera in this regard.
- The clip-on light doesn't hold a charge very long at all... it only stays at maximum brightness for a quarter-hour or so before beginning to significantly dim. This is unfortunate because I wanted to love this clip-on light and instead I merely like it.

Awesome detail, sometimes tricky to focus

The media could not be loaded. I use this to take close ups of my smaller aquarium fish/shrimp. Although it can be tricky in my experience (using a Google Pixel 7 pro) to get it to focus, once you do you'll be taking crystal clear pictures capturing super fine details. You'll prbably need to disable any macro mode on your phone to use it. Overall really happy that I bought it, would absolutely recommend it.
