Slight defects in the paint (tiny pits) that are unnoticeable from a distance. Did not work really well with Blu-Ray cases or CD's when mounted horizontally (they fall out the back). Mounted vertically I'm sure these will work fine. Sturdy steel.

I was concerned when I opened the package that the DVD cases would not remain in place once the rack was mounted. However, the rack is perfectly designed so that the DVDs sit against the wall and stay put. The only reason I did not give this product 5 stars is that the designed of the mounting brackets is such that it is difficult to use a screw gun or even a hand screw driver on any wall attaching screws.
