I am a senior male of average size with deteriation of vertabra in my lower back. I was using a flat pillow between my legs to mimize pain. After two physical therepy perscriptions, due to scyatica, that reduced pain but did not eliminating it, something had to change.
This pillow was purchased about two months ago, and my back pain disapeared after the first night sleeping with it.
I found that it is most comforatable with the pillow just above my knees rather than higher up on my thighs.
The material density and the thickness are comforatable. The pillow stays in place when I move. I use a separate pillowcase which should eliminate the need to remove the foam to wash the shell.

Having hip arthritis this pillow had been a life saver for being able to sleep better. You do have to get used to it if you toss and turn but once you do it's amazing and comfortable.
