Pros:
1. Bottom part is pretty sturdy. They also have two rubber feet that actually keep the laptop in place as opposed to the rubber feet that Microsoft provides that are just really slippery.
2. I read a lot of issues about charging, and I can confirm that this manufacturer has fixed it. I can comfortably charge the surface book in both directions.

Cons.
1. Surface book being definitely top heavy when past 100 degrees.
**What causes this is not the top portion of the case, but actually the bottom portion. If you see in other pictures, the fulcrum hinge is actually lifted off the ground by a few millimeters in order to protect it from scratches and dents. However, if you fully extend the laptop with the case on, the fulcrum hinge is no longer fully capable of balancing both the keyboard and the clipboard. This is true since I have put on the top portion of the case on and the laptop is not unbalanced. I will try and and another set of rubber feet on the bottom to make it high and see if this will fix this problem.
2. My top case fits incredibly loosely on the tablet portion. When closed and trying to open, I'm pretty much almost taking off the case only.

Mids:
1. Pen can only be comfortably clipped with the tip facing up

End solution: I will probably buy a dbrand skin solely for the top portion of the laptop, unless I put in time to fix and melt a little bit of the plastic portions to make it tighter. Nevertheless, I'm not a fan of the case making the surface book top-heavy, since the surface book itself already doesn't have too much flexibility.

For the Manufacturer: I think a solution to keeping the bottom part of the case better would be to instead of having one latch in the middle, have two latches near the sides of the gap. It does feel a littler awkward with the latch in the middle.

I think that this manufacturer has lots to improve on, but this was definitely a difficult device to design a case for. I hope in the future other customers will have better experiences with this product. :)

I have had this case for awhile now and it has yet to grow on me. When I initially got it I was disappointed because I prefer a case with more of a rubbery feel (TPU preferably) but for some lame reason there just aren't that many options for the Surface Book - what gives?!!! So, I ordered what I could and hoped that the fact it was pink would make me love it. I rarely want to unsnap my screen because it's not "comfy" to hold it like it is with something a bit softer. I guess I just don't like hard cases. And this thing snaps on a little odd so it never feels completely solid on my computer. And I don't love the lined texture. So... I'm clicking "it's ok" / 3 stars because well, that's how I feel. :)

For the price, this product does exactly what it needs to. It fits well, not perfectly, but clicks into the ventilation on the main Surface unit and has tabs on the top of the keyboard piece to keep a firm hold on the device. The plastic seems thick enough to withstand some light damage, but definitely not enough to protect the screen or keyboard from a major drop on the floor off a desk or counter. It probably adds about half a pound to the total weight of the laptop but it's nothing too significant. The ports are well exposed, my charger fits well and my pen has enough space for the magnet to keep it held to the main unit. Pretty color. Quick shipping. I'm happy with it.

I got the clear version of this for my Surface. I bought it to soothe my anxiety over the thought of scratches all over it as I send it through airport TSA or move it around the house, and this shell is accomplishing that goal.

Unfortunately, I have to be a little careful when I open my laptop because the top left corner comes off a little if I'm not careful. (The shell doesn't fall off, since the top right corner stays on fine, so I think this is a minor issue with the shell I received.)

On a positive note: I saw these reviews before I bought it and was prepared to file off the extra tab people were saying gets in the way on this thing. But it looks like the company has removed that piece, because the laptop closes perfectly fine. I can remove and replace the screen, then close it either way without issues. I can also connect the charger in either direction without taking the case off (which I saw some reviewers last year could not do). So props to the company for taking feedback, since the product is now that much more convenient to use.

I received mine today and I got purple. The 2 little tabs that others talk about were not an issue at all. They fit perfectly in 2 of the vent holes on the side of my laptop. Both parts fit perfectly and there was no reason to make any adjustments or file down the tabs. I can plug the charger in either way and none of the ports are blocked. It looks really nice! I am very happy.
