Good quality but optimistic shade estimate
James W Ewing✓ Verified PurchaseMay 23, 2018
I got this to provide some shade to a test bed of wasabi. From a construction standpoint it's fine and not having taped/grommeted edges makes it really easy to clip onto the greenhouse frame. BUT I think the 40% shading estimate (40-55% in the description) is very optimistic. I needed to fold it over to get a decent amount of shade. It's working but I have to get more to get full coverage on my bed.
Not that great

Very thin weaved plastic. It's like what produce will be in. Not sure as of yet how this will cool down the inside of a Palram greenhouse. I get better shade coverage with the Palram shade cloth, though, the inside of the greenhouse is still over 100° with the window and door opened. Planted a shade tree behind the greenhouse in hopes of more shade and cooler temps.
It saves my Gardenia

It works so far so good. I plant a Gardenia jasminoides tree in my backyard. The flowers were very well in the spring season, but they cannot bear the strong sun shine in Texas in summer. I didn't realized the damaged caused by the sun shine until all leaves are gone. I did some research online and decide to use the sun shade cloth to cover my flowers. This shade saves my Gardenia, at least it start growing new leaves right now.
Works great in Phoenix

This has been working great to shade my late summer garden in Phoenix. I draped it over curved PVC pipe and clamped it on using 1-Inch Spring Clamps, (bought 20-pack BORA from Amazon). I'm excited to see how well it works next year when it starts getting really hot again.
It Saved My Ruby Falls Weeping Redbud!

I planted a tree (late in the season), and the heatwave took its toll quickly (sunscorched, droopy leaves)! I knew I had to take action! Although the tree supposed to thrive in full sun, transplant shock and the unseasonably hot weather were just too much. So I came up with an idea to give it some shade for the first couple of tender years. I bought two tall and two medium sized shepherd hooks and built a shade cover to filter out about 50 percent of the UV rays. I'm also using a slow watering system (Treegator, Jr.) to moisturize its deeper roots. My tree is doing GREAT now! This shade fabric is sturdy, lightweight and the perfect solution to my problem. Here's a photo.
