This saved me a bunch of time not having to install a switch in my closet, instead just ran a ceiling box with power and installed ceramic/porcelain bulb base. This comes with a nice bulb system really lighting up the small room.
Keep it Simple and Stupid. Winner product of the year for me.

Easy way to make dangerous bare lightbulbs save and energy efficient.
We replaced all our closet bare bulbs with these. Took all of maybe 2 minutes to pull out of the box, unscrew old bulb and screw this in.

When I screwed the fixture into the socket, the fixture did not fit flush to the ceiling. When I pulled the chain the fixture pulled the fixture down to one side and broke off. I had to use pliers to remove the threaded portion inside the socket.

Great product! Installed 4 or 5 of them in our 1970 Brady Bunch House closets with old fashioned pull chain lights. Safer too - if something was to fall off of closet shelf onto old fashioned light bulb pull chain system we had could be a fire hazard! Recommend you buy this item at the very least for safety. Bright white too!
