If You Dress Your Own Network Cables, You'll Love These.....!
Dave Richards✓ Verified PurchaseJuly 28, 2023
Especially if you dress a lot of them, as I do, you'll love these because not only are they shielded for use on those critical shielded cables, but they are perforated at the end to make crimping them on easy and fast compared to the non-perforated models.

Those who are experienced in this work know what I'm talking about. So often we are given those cheap clear plastic RJ-45 ends and after you strip the outer jacket and straighten the pairs, and put them in the correct standards order of color coding, you stuff them into the connector and they hit the end of the inside of the connector channel. Unless you have all eight conductors perfectly cut to the right length (and who has time for that?) you will end up with some conductors not in all the way and some coming up short. With these connectors, you stuff the conductors into it and they come out a hole at the end of the channel allowing you to quickly push all conductors fully into their channels and the outer jacket into the pinch area. It's so fast and easy, and all because of those eight holes at the end of those eight channels.

I use these even on un-shielded cable because I love 'em.

I have been making ethernet cables of all sizes for 20+ years. Letting the wire come through the front and verifying the pin-out and color orientation before final crimp is genius. Here is another trade secret. Use a 1 inch heat shrink piece the diameter of the ethernet cable, immediately after orienting the colored wires like this [BROWN/BROWN STRIPE - GREEN/BLUE STRIPE - BLUE/GREEN STRIP - ORANGE/ORANGE STRIPE] (VIEW FROM SNAP PIN ON TOP) Then use a precision wire snip and cut wires flush. Then slide through connector allowing the heat-shrink to become an added strain relief. After you verify colors on the front are oriented correctly, crimp and pull the cable snug to ensure crimped pins seat in cable. Now use a razor knife with the connector facing up to use the plastic pin guide as a reference for the cut. Lightly score the protruding wires and the wires will snap off perfectly flush. I needed an 18 inch cable for a project today, and here is the final result. Doing it right the first time eliminates intermittent connections and wasted crimp connectors. You can go ahead and test the (8) green dots on your tester to feel good, but if you follow my procedure you will never screw one up again.
Great solution for perfect connections - on STRANDED cable
Melsman✓ Verified PurchaseJuly 27, 2023
I love these pass-through type connectors. They make it very easy to get a good, solid connection. The pass-through feature allows for easier termination compared to the standard, closed end types.

One important note - these are TWO prong RJ45 plugs, and are meant only for STRANDED cable. If you want to terminate solid cable, you should use THREE prong plugs. Now... will these work with solid wire? Yes... kinda... maybe... not really. The two prongs are designed to penetrate into stranded cable. When used on solid cable, they will probably touch the conductor, which, more often than not, will give a positive connection. However, this is not an optimal connection and can fail either immediately or over time. (I think this is the cause of one reviewers failure rate.)

However, when used correctly, these are awesome connectors. 5 stars!
Great reliable connectors
Cat✓ Verified PurchaseJuly 4, 2023
These are great connectors and super easy to use with no chance of mistakes. I have been using these for a few years now in all my network installs. With the pass-through feature you can always verify if the wires are in the correct order before crimping so there are no wiring mismatches. Easy to install. Strip the wire, organize the wiring pattern for your needs, insert into the connector and push in as tight as you can get it, Verify correct wiring pattern, Cut excess wire off as close as you can with a Electrician's Scissors, Pull back on the wire a little tiny bit until the wire on the end is flush with the end of the connector, crimp the connector. Easy and fast with no mistakes!
Great for Colorblind Installers! High Quality, Solid Copper, RJ45 CAT6 Pass-Through Connectors!

Highlights "“
-I'm colorblind, so verifying the wiring order once through the connector is far easier than traditional RJ45 connectors
-Comes in a bag inside of a box, great for storage
-Solid copper, with great signal quality and zero failures (40 used so far)

Pro's "“
-Works with CAT6
-So far, zero failures (crimped 40 so far, with Klein VDV226-110)
-Passes Fluke cable testing with flying colors
-Fast & easy method for crimping CAT6 ethernet, great for beginners & professionals alike

Con's "“
-So far, none! I have not experienced a bad connector yet

Overall:
When redoing my home network with CAT6, I found myself wanting to make custom-length cables for certain applications. While I had plenty of experience with traditional RJ45 crimp connectors, I figured I would try these out to see if it would make anything easier, especially as I am colorblind. With 40 connectors used so far, with zero failures, I am impressed! The ability to see the wiring, after it has been pushed through the connector, but before it's crimped, has saved me from inadvertently mixing up wires, and being colorblind, has certainly helped me! My Fluke PoE-capable cable quality tester gives the proverbial thumbs up on these, and I'm certainly looking forward to using more of these connectors in the future.
