The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result. Well, I must be truly insane because I keep buying this garbage and expecting it to work! Never again, though! I just doesn't work at all! The yeast is dead when I receive it and just floats in my wash. I have bought this crap multiple times and it has NEVER worked! My advice is to find a nice turbo yeast in a smaller, single use package. Or, if you are not shooting for high ABV, just use the yeast in the baking aisle at Wal-Mart. That stuff works great but isn't tolerant to very high ABV percentage. I do know one thing for sure... this Red Star horse crap is pure garbage! STAY AWAY!

Yeast will not activate. Must be old. I've tried several times to activate this yeast as I wanted to brew some high gravity brews, which is why I bought this product. This yeast refuses to start. I am highly disappointed.
