The Cadilliac of Crutches!
Devin McElroy✓ Verified Purchase•May 23, 2017
HEAVY DUTY:
These are very sturdy (I weigh >300 lbs) and they don't even creak, let along bow and feel shaky like some others. They have shock absorbing springs in them which takes a little bit of getting used to (because they give), but even at my weight, they feel very strong and sturdy.
LEG RESTS:
I ended up removing the leg rests, because I can't/won't ever use them, but for someone that had one leg weaker than the other (or an injury that they wanted to rest off the ground), they could be very useful. I am equally weak in both legs, so I can't stand on one leg anyway (even with crutches).
FOREARM CLAMPS:
The forearm clamps are extremely comfortable; so much more comfortable than the old metal cuffs; and, they are adjustable! That means that if I am wearing a heavy coat or a tee-shirt, I can adjust the forearm clamps to be perfect for whatever I am wearing without them cutting off my circulation.
CRUTCH TIPS:
These are the best crutch tips I have ever seen. I no longer have to worry about falling through sidewalk grates or elevator gaps because these are wide enough that those small hazards are completely eliminated. Also, they work really well in gravel and even in sand. I can now go hiking without fear of my crutches slipping out from underneath me and falling.
HAND GRIPS:
The ergonomic hand grips are great; very comfortable and they have totally eliminated my hand cramping if I am on my feet (and crutches) for extended periods of time.
ADJUSTMENTS:
The adjustments are very easy to make (I didn't even have to consult the manual). First-time crutch users may have some problems because there are more adjustments than other crutches, but if you have a history of using mobility assistance devices, these will be a piece of cake.
STORAGE:
The fact that these fold over make them so much easier to store on an airplane now. Before, the stewardesses always had to stow them and then I had to wait for them to get them out of the closet for me before I could deplane. I can now fold them and fit them in the overhead compartment so I can grab them when I want them and get off the plan with everyone else.
WEIGHT:
These are a bit on the heavy side, but for all of the pluses they provide, I did not consider this a negative issue.
BELLS AND WHISTLES:
The reflectors are a nice touch since I do like to walk in the evenings at a park across the street from my house. But, the best part of all are the built-in flashlights. I don't have to carry a separate flashlight in my pocket now when I am walking out at night (or worse yet, try to carry one in my hand while using the crutches). They illuminate the area in front of you pretty well (they're not very powerful), but can assist in helping you see where you're putting your feet (or where you've dropped your house keys!) as long as you're paying attention.
OVERALL:
I have used lots of different crutches and canes over the years (I am 57) and these are the best ones I have every used. Mine were not covered by insurance (because they weren't sold by a pharmacy or medical supply store in my insurance plan's approved list), but they were well worth the investment and even if I have to buy a new pair every year; it will be worth it. I imagine (just like other crutches) that the hand grips and tips will wear out the fastest.

They have some heft to them but it isn't bad or noticeable when using them

Online it doesn't say it has night time lights and buttons for some sort of alarm on the handle? So that was a surprise. I have to say though the impact and stress of that on my joints is far less. And the padding where the arm goes has helped a lot. I'm not too sureabout the knee rest? It hits certain nerves and I think for me personally it just didn't work for my knee but it may for someone else. I have a cousin in another country with a life long disability that I'm going to buy a second set for. So I definitely highly suggest these. They have some heft to them but it isn't bad or noticeable when using them.
Love love love them

These crutches are a lifesaver. I had double ankle surgery and was using other forearm crutches. I bought these after many days of frustrations and they are fabulous. Much easier on your arms and they have lights and a horn. Love love love them. If you need crutches for any amount of time these are definitely worth the money.
Nice product, Ergoactives is a good seller that knows how to pack the product correctly so it arrives safe.

Nice crutches but a little noisy already after only owning them for a month. The springs are squeaky but they are still a nice quality product that makes you go faster than regular crutches. The handle on the left hand has made the 3 outer fingers on my left hand go numb. Hopefully it's not permanent nerve damage but it's been happening since I started using them. Surprisingly though it's not happening with the right hand so not sure what I am doing differently with my left than the right. I have tried all 3 positions because the handle goes into 3 positions and it seems to not make a difference. I can't use the highest position because then it hurts my wrist. Ugggh. Minor inconvenience though for the speed you get. I also like the straps because if I need to use just one crutch and carry something in the other hand, I can. The knee support is no good for me though because I need bilateral knee replacements and it's too painful to kneel on the little kickstand. I'm ready to take them off. The rubber stoppers on the bottom are sturdy on rocky terrain and asphalt but not good if it's wet or on slippery tile. I don't think any crutch or cane is good when it's wet anyway so this isn't unique to this product but for some reason I thought it would be sturdier when wet so just be aware of that or you may slide unexpectedly. I originally ordered these from a non prime seller (Not Ergoactives). Big Mistake! He didn't pack them correctly and they broke because they were shipped in a garbage bag. This seller on the other hand shipped them in a nice sturdy box. So Order them from Prime by Ergoactives. Serious company. I've yet to find use for the little horn and have not used the light but they seem nice features. They give you extra batteries too. Sadly I'll be using crutches probably for the rest of my life so am glad I found a nice product and company that I can order from again and again. Thanks.
The best crutches you can get!

I bought these for my mother in law who needs them to walk and she says they are amazing. She used to have terrible caluses on her palms from her old crutches and she couldn't get rid of it and now they are gone! She says that these crutches shift how you disperse your weight and she can feel the difference. She doesn't just feel the difference on her hands but arms and back too. The lights come in handy, the feet are a great design and the shocks on the bottom are great as well. The only thing that was a negative was they make these terrible squeaking noises when she walks. It started a few weeks after she got them. We tried WD40 and also a liquid silicone but it only calmed the noise some. Other than that, they are great!
