My dane and shepherd tear up my yard each winter and track mud in every day and it has taken a toll on my carpets. Throwing towels down just wasn't cutting it. My dog is definitely not the most obedient and people-pleasing; she typically does her own thing. Example: I purchased her a $70 orthopedic dog bed and she has now trained ME to give her a treat when she deigns to occupy it. I bought a $300 armchair for myself and she has claimed it for all of her sleeping needs while the "dog bed" languishes. However, she loves this mat. As soon as I put it down, she was laying on it. I can see this being a great purchase for someone trying to train their dogs in the all-important "place" command. She also carries raw bones to consume on it, so if you are a raw feeder in the city like me, this can help contain the mess and grossness. It is a dog magnet!

Although thick, this doesn't actually get stuck on my door! Every rug we had tried to put by the door has inevitably been bunched up when we open and close it, because there isn't much clearance. This rug just lets it pass right over, and, as claimed, much of the water on the feet of my three dogs when then come inside, gets trapped by this rug, eliminating the wet trail we used to deal with! Love this!

I LOVE THESE. I have a Great Dane and he's a verrrrry messy eater and water drinker. I live in an apartment and have hardwood floors throughout the apartment so I'm super concerned about water damage from my dog. These are super water absorbent but still feel great to walk on. Don't leave the rug on the hardwood floor for hours, though ... it's still wet. They wash really well (the stickiness doesn't last, but who cares). Get one! Or three!

Given the fact paws only hit it once as they come inside it does a good job. We use it as much as anyone and it protects our hardwood floors on the inside step of our slider. Unlike plastic fiber rugs it actually pulls the moisture off the soles of your shoes if you take the time to wipe them once or twice. Although it's sold under the auspices of pet management it's a darn good doormat no matter what. We are purchasing two of these and a runner for our new RV as I am sure they will work just as well in there.
