Made my first ever two ethernet cables...worked great the first time!!!

It works. Seems like a nice set. Probably not professional quality, but for the home DIYer it should last a lifetime. Plenty of connectors included. The testers take the guesswork out of "will it work?". I had to make up two 50'+ cable runs for a Tivo system...I took my time, paid attention to getting the pairs all lined up correctly and the cables worked the great the first time with no problems. These were the first/only ethernet cables I had ever built. My suggestion is to read some webpages and watch a youtube video or two about building these cables and then be patient as you work with the wires. Good kit.
Updated review on tester, still taking a star for having to solder a battery into it.

Tester is useless, tried it on 3 brand new Ethernet cables of various brands and it said they failed on all pins! Haven't tried the other stuff yet, will update when I do.
Update: I soldered a connection for a 9 volt battery based on the suggestion of another reviewer. Works for now, although it looks pretty silly with the "wrong" battery on it. All it does is cycle through all 8 pins. If the led turns red, it's good. If it doesn't light at all, it's bad. The S setting should be labelled "Slow" because it does the same thing as On, but half the speed or so.
Crimper works fine, but it is fairly easy to crimp too hard as there is no torqueing type mechanism in them.
Quality of the cable ends appears to be good, all are working well so far.

Fantastic Value for a Homeowner

I got these to run CAT6 cables throughout my home and I needed various lengths that I had wanted to be able to customize. I was VERY pleasantly surprised at the quality for the money. The crimper is a ratcheting crimper and works beautifully. I have made about a dozen crimps so far and had only one where it was bad, but it was an issue with the RJ45 end that I put on, NOT the crimper. The tester is very convenient to check for improperly pinned cables or for faults on the network cable made. Very good value. A similar set at the big box home improvement stores was over $30. I'm quite sure that this is not contractor grade, but for a homeowner, it is fantastic.

I've used this once so far to repair a plug on a cable. As long as you know what you're doing, this works perfectly. No need to buy a $50 crimper, this is all you need for occasional projects, though I'm sure it can handle constant daily use for quite a while. Feels like a solid, good quality crimper.
I was looking to buy a crimper and some modular plugs at the same time so this was a great combo. Then, they even have a stripping tool AND a continuity tester! The tester is very cheaply made and feels like I could smash it in my hands if I held it too tightly. It takes one 9 volt battery which isn't included.

Easy to Learn, Easy to Use, Easy to Afford.

This was one of the purchases I wasn't sure about, but I have to say I'm so happy I decided to grab this thing. Since I bought it and learned how easy it was to make my own Ethernet cord I've been running around helping out family and pretending to be a specialist. I've even put it to work in a serious project at home rewiring the walls with Ethernet and it didn't drop a beat. The yellow cutter thing works almost every time, had a one time issue where it cut too deep into the ethernet cord but I'm sure that was my fault. It really is all you need to get started making your own ethernet cord. Highly recommend if you want to save the money of constantly buying cord and fretting about how long of a pre made cord you'll need. I just grabbed a roll of cord for like 30 bucks and I'm golden on ethernet cord for the next ten years. Assuming we still use it that long. I do also want to say, I always assumed that making ethernet would be this long challenge to master, moving the little cords just right would prove too difficult for me, but I googled a picture and figured it all out in ten minutes. It really isn't hard to do.A+ from me.
