MY MOBILE HARD DISK DRIVE-BAY ISN'T USABLE BECAUSE OF THE CABLES FAILURE. HAY KINGWIN WHERE'S MY REPLACEMENT CABLE? I SENT PROOF OF PURCHASE AND A REQUEST FOR TWO CABLES BECAUSE OF THE POOR QUALITY WORKMANSHIP THAT WENT INTO MAKING THE CABLES.

This thing was priced well below competitors, and it works great. Many of the low cost solutions from rivals only support either 2.5 or 3.5 inch drives, but this unit takes both! Installation was easy and the product feels well built. It doesn't feel cheap at all.
Some things you should know are that the front will stick out of the case a little bit, maybe 3/4 an inch. This could be a problem if you're using one of those cases with annoying exterior doors for the 5.25 bays. Also, the screws for mounting the 3.5 inch drive into the caddy are somewhat special in that the head is unusually flat; I imagine this is necessary to clear the bottom of the cage. So don't lose them!

I'm using this in a CoolerMaster ATCS-840 full tower case to provide removable bays for my home server and it's just about perfect. The fan isn't too loud, the trayless mechanism is solid and it even looks nice in the case.
I only wish it had an option for a SGPIO backplane connector for use with RAID cards, but that's a relatively minor loss and unless you have a dedicated server RAID card, the omission of this feature is of zero consequence.
The only thing you may run into is tabs or dividers between bays on your case/chassis. These will need to be bent out of the way or removed to install this as it consumes three 5.25" bays at once. (It's actually sideways in the pic, when installed the slots run vertically rather than horizontally.) On my ATCS-840, I had to bend down the divider tabs to get this in but once that was done, it was smooth sailing.

I do frequent pc trouble shooting and wanted a way to quickly check hard drives with out pulling out a sata cable. This fits the need. Can quickly stick drive in front and see if it is dead. Also handy for easy transfers of data off hdd from computers that have died (backup before restore or replace).

Quality has declined! I purchased this same unit on 1/4/2013 (yes 2013) and was pleased with its construction, performance, and overall quality. I needed to rehab another system and given my previous experience with this item, thought it would be great to have the same flexibility in the rehab box. Unit arrived on time and in good condition. I did notice that the front of the unit is somewhat different from my previous unit but figuring it was only cosmetic I didn't give it a second thought. Installation was OK but after a few swaps the unit does NOT perform as well as my previous purchase. The hard drives do NOT eject when the door is opened. You can open the door and then carefully remove the drive from the connections. I NEVER had this experience with the previous purchase. In my opinion, the production quality of this unit has declined and I would have serious reservations about another purchase.
