I have an obsession with tea infusers. Specifically whimsical tea infusers. I have more than any one person probably needs but that didn't stop me from buying this.
It's totally adorable how little Nessie's head stick out above your tea in your cup. It also makes a nice dry place to grab when you're done brewing your tea.
Nessie's body locks onto the back/neck part very well. I've had no issues after several months of use with them separating.
It is easy to pull the two pieces apart so you can load or empty.
It holds a surprising amount of tea, more than I was expecting.
It's totally adorable how little Nessie's head stick out above your tea in your cup. It also makes a nice dry place to grab when you're done brewing your tea.

Some of this has been stated in other reviews & it's 100% true:
- It does not hold tea well. No mater what tea I put inside, particles make there way into my mug. If you like a mouth full of loose tea, enjoy.
- It does not stand up well. Air seems to get trapped inside and Nessie just leans on the edge of the mug. "Wake up you lazy sea monster, I've got tea to brew!"
Yes, the little guy is adorable, but it's primary function is to infuse/steep/brew tea. I'm not going into detail about it being annoying to clean or the top not fitting on the bottom all that great, because I believe those are to be expected of this type of infuser (a sacrifice you might deal with for style/portability). It simply DOES NOT DO it's primary function and that is unacceptable.

Meh. I like it as well as any of the ball-style infusers I've owned. It works about as well (dropping tea leaves all over the place of course) but has the added benefit of being cute, which makes it slightly less infuriating. If you want something cute or a gag gift, buy this. If you want the absolute best option for in-mug brewing, get one of these stainless steel deals instead. I Love it so much because it's really just the cutest. It would be better if there was a mesh inside it because as other reviewers have stated some tea particles leak out, but it's nothing that can't be fixed by lining the inside with a bit of a coffee filter. Four stars only for that little detail. Otherwise it's perfect!
Very cute, but not good as a tea infuser.

Very cute, but not good as a tea infuser. I've used this with multiple kinds of teas, and it always lets particles of tea through the holes. A bunch of leaves end up in my drink, making it very unpalatable.
