I bought this mat for work to replace another one I had which ended up warping. Compared to my last one, this is a great quality mat and it is twice as thick. It self heals quickly and I'm cutting on it with an xacto-knife all the time. If there comes a time I need to purchase another mat, I would definitely buy this one again.

Besides my favorite scrounged tool, corrugated cardboard, this Calibre Art cutting mat is, by far, the least vile-smelling cutting mat I've encountered. That's the primary reason I decided to try this mat, but there are other reasons to recommend it. I like the imperial and metric measurements and the common angles represented. The mat is thicker than other mats; it remains flat and does not seem to deform easily. Time will tell how well this mat self-heals. But I like its features so much that I "gifted" my old mats, with caveats about their dubious health safety. The Calibre Arts mat may be less toxic only by comparison, but I like the direction that only Calibre Arts seems to be taking. If more testing proves satisfactory, I will likely acquire two more mats: one "travel size" format; and the largest size for my cutting table.

I needed a new cutting mat, and when I found the Calibre Art mat, I realized I had a winner. I do a lot of quilting and with this mat's accurate measurements, I've been having a much easier time cutting. A new mat made all the difference for me. --- My mat arrived folded in half and shipped in a smaller box. Samuel had even told Amazon to please ship the mat flat. Mine wasn't. I blame Amazon for not following simple directions - NOT the seller. I left the mat on my porch, outside in the sun, with heavy books placed on the center. Within 25 minutes, the mat flattened out and was useable. --- Another bonus for me was there was no chemical smell on this mat at all. When the time comes for me to buy another mat, Calibre Art will get my money. This is a top quality product. Do yourself a favor and buy one of their mats. You won't be sorry.

Arrived promptly & in good condition, well packaged. The thing I like about this mat is that it does not have that horrible toxic smell that my usual cutting mats have - I used to have to air them out in my basement for several weeks before using them. This mat is also extra-thick, which I think will mean that I don't have to worry about always storing it flat & on a horizontal surface. It is a bit different from the other mats I've used for cutting fabric, in that it is marked entirely in 1/2" grid - no contrasting color lines at the 1" intervals. It does have the measurement numbers marked along the sides, and I think once I get used to it looking different it will be entirely satisfactory. As a quilter and sewista of baby clothes, I cut a lot of fabric!
