Good value for decent percale sheets.

I waited nearly a year before writing this review, to give these sheets a proper fair chance. They aren't bad sheets, but not exactly amazing either. Really more of a 3.5 star product.
They are not what I'd call soft, but they're soft enough - we never felt scratchy in them. This is the difference between short & long staple cotton - these sheets are short staple. They do soften somewhat over time & washings, but it's a slow process. The weight is decent, not too heavy or light. So far, they are holding up well & look to be much more durable than any sateen weave. As with all percale, they have a crisp hand & will wrinkle very easily. I didn't detract stars for these facts, as it's common to the weave.
Changes I would like to see are a slightly more generous cut to fit over thick mattresses more securely (ours just barely fit over a 14" mattress), and a cleaner / more consistent top hem (ours has a slight "twist" to it, so it never lays fully flat).
All that said, the price is right & these sheets are a very good value for a mid-level percale.

Although the fabric is stiff even after the first wash, I slept well on these sheets. I am counting on them getting softer with use. Percale is cooler than sateen and it has a crisp feel and even a crisp sound as I get into bed. It reminds me of sheets I slept on as a kid. They are generously sized. The fitted sheet has elastic all the way around and snugs the mattress nicely. The top sheet is plenty long and wide both. The are a nice basic sheet.

I have 12 sets of sheets... I LOVE SHEETS.. . I love GOOD PERCALE... these may not be the BEST percale but they blew my minds... the TOP SHEET is ENORMOUS! I think they'd be PERFECT if they were 400+... my favorite percale are 500 but a tiny bit "heavy" for percale. Anyway, these feel and perform EXACATLY like EVERY HOTEL I've ever stayed in. You know that feeling you get at a good hotel when you slide into bed for the night and think "what brand of sheets are these? I wish mine were as crisp and soft as these sheets." THESE ARE THOSE SHEETS! note: I did wash mine 2 times before I used them... crazy I'm sure but I wanted them to "soften up" a little first AND THEY DID. $40.00 is a steal. Ralph Lauren's percale (that always ends up at home stores, feels very similar... fyi.
Low quality, possibly not percal weave

Percale sheets have particular characteristics that these sheets do not posses. Percale sheets should be crisp and cool. These sheets stick to your PJs, are quite warm and are not at all crisp. I suspect the weave is not percale, otherwise I would expect these sheets to have different characteristics. In addition to this, there are size and quality issues. The top sheet is huge - this might make sense for people who place multiple mattresses on the box spring, but for me with a tall mattress, full box spring and a frame the top sheet touches the floor at the bottom corners. Also the stitching is poor quality (puckering) and the pillow cases are not properly cut on the bias resulting in edges that are uneven and unmanageable. These are not what I wanted and I will not buy them again.
Cool and Crisp Sheets

These sheets are not those soft ones you feel at Target and want to bring home to snuggle in. These are crisp, cool sheets that make you feel like you're getting into a new bed every night. I'm a hot sleeper (even in winter and with the heat register closed to my bedroom) and was tired of waking up, drenched in sweat every night. These sheets do a great job of keeping from being overheated every night. Yes, they're cool when I get into bed, but they quickly become a comfortable body temp when there's a couple of blankets on top. Yes, they do wrinkle, but they're 100% cotton and I don't iron and do keep my bed made, so the wrinkles aren't much of a concern for me. Yes, they're crisp, but they've softened a bit with washing and I expect they'll get softer as time goes on, but still maintain some crispness that I love. I've had these for a couple of months now and am really impressed with the quality and the feel. I wouldn't hesitate to buy them again.
