First, this didn't really fit our pergola very well, despite the fact that it's 10x12ft, and so is our pergola. Second, the ties are also not actually long enough to tie around the posts, even though our pergola literally matches the one in the product illustration to a tee. You can tie them in a very tight, small knot, but then they're almost impossible to get off. Third, it's incredibly ugly.

It provides nice shade on our pergola. The ties make this difficult to put on, and that is a polite way to say it, I may have used some offensive words when installing it. Once installed, it was great for a few months until the ends that you tie off start tearing off one by one. I thought it was maybe just a few weak spots, but after a few weeks, they are all coming apart. I have 6 or 7 still attached and soon this thing will just fly away in the wind and I will not even know until I get home from work.
I would reccomend investing in grommets and bungee cord if you are buying this, or even better, buy one that already has a better method of tying it down to the pergola.
I gave it 3 stars because it is very effective at providing shade while it is up, and if I spend a little time and money upgrading it, it will be very useful again.

Ties Dont Stay Tied

I like the color and the quality of the material. It definitely kept the space cooler but not dark like the vinyl covers. My problem is the ties come a loose. When the wind gets under the canopy the strings give no expansion. I am going to keep it and make holes for bungie ties.

We were very happy with this when it arrived. Put it up over our vinyl patio cover and loved it for the first few months. After 5 months it is falling apart. One entire side and one end has torn off. I would not order again.
