Amazing. I am in awe.

I'd like to start off by dispelling the insufficient bass reviews. The bass on these is deep and beautiful. It isn't overpowering like some cheaper headsets that use bass to cover up inferior quality speakers.

I love that there's both a wireless and wired option. Wired option is passive, so in the event that you run out of battery (unlikely), you can continue to rock on.

Bluetooth is a finicky technology, but Audio Technica has minimized the connection pain as far as possible.

Even the BT connection confirmation sound is pleasant. Too many other headphone makers have some horrible, grating noise to alert you that the connection has been made.

Battery life is phenomenal. I get at least 20 hours of use before charging; haven't even had it discharge completely. Far exceeds my wildest expectations.

Very comfortable for extended periods of time, with superior quality ear pads and a padded band. Adjustable to fit even big-headed people such as myself.

Understated but high quality design. Nothing gimmicky about this headset.

The ONLY problem that I've had is actually Apple's fault. When pairing with a Macbook Pro, the headset microphone is enabled for input, which causes a very noticeable loss in audio quality. Just change the microphone input back to the Macbook, and the problem is fixed. Come on, Apple!

I bought these for work, but am very seriously considering a second pair for personal use. I've taken them back home the past few weekends because it beats (hah!) every other headphone set that I own.
Good headphones (and customer service)

Good headphones (and customer service).

Listening-wise, these are quality headphones in line with what I'd expect from Audio-Technica; they are solidly built, as far as headphones go, and quite light. The earpads are soft but do not cover/wrap around your entire ear, so if you're looking for the physical noise barrier you get with studio headphones, you won't really be finding it here. That said, they do block some noise and are comfortable.

The Bluetooth is easy to set up and pair with a first device (especially if you read the instructions). Once you add other devices, it can be a little difficult to make sure the right device is selected/paired...this is pretty common with my experience with these kinds of devices and is inherent, I'd guess, with having a really simple user interface. Sound quality is good with Bluetooth, and I give the designers extra props for allowing a traditional plug-in option...it really irks me when those kinds of details are left off, and in this case a perfectly usable pair of headphones could be rendered useless with, for example, my old iPod classic. Battery life is impressive--supposed to be 30 some odd hours and I am still going strong off my initial charge.

I did contact Audio Technica customer service--after less than 2 weeks of gentle, indoor, home use, the earpads started wearing through and splitting in the area where their sleeve slips around the plastic of the phones (see photo). There is a 2-year warranty on the phones, and after contacting customer service with a photo and my information I received a response in less than a day and replacement pads in less than a week without needing to send the phones in. Kudos for good customer service!! Although, it's not super inspiring that part of the phones wore out through so little use. I am cautiously hopeful that the more important components will hold up a little better but will update if anything catastrophic happens.
Audio-Technica ATH-SR5BTWH Bluetooth Wireless On-Ear Headphones

The Audio-Technica ATH-SR5BTWH primary specifications include wired or Bluetooth version 4.1 connectivity, 45mm driver, 103 decibel/mW sensitivity, 5 to 40,000 Hz frequency response, 45 ohms, and a microphone (on the cable). If you compare these specifications with other competitor products, you will notice that the ATH-SR5BTWH stacks up exceptionally well. Although I have not owned an extensive array of audio devices, these Audio-Technica are the best sounding headphones in my collection. Although the base could be slightly more pronounced, the overall balance between frequencies is fantastic (I utilize the wired connectivity and cannot comment on the Bluetooth quality).

For me, comfort is the primary variable. The ATH-SR5BTWH is a splendidly specified headphone, but how does it feel? My previous headphones would pinch the top of my head after an hour of use due to the engineering of the padding. The ATH-SR5BTWH is padded throughout the entire arch, evenly distributing the applied force. I have worn these lightweight headphones for periods of 10 concurrent hours without the slightest discomfort.

The ATH-SR5BTWH is a remarkably balanced headphone that excels in comfort and extended wearability.
Great Sound, Less Than Obvious Controls, Finicky Connection

These are not realy noise cancelling headphones. They sound great and reproduce clear, accurate, sound, if that's what you're into. Nothing boosted. Battery life is excellent. My phone reads the battery, and it's always at 90 or 100%. Volume controls are wonky, but newer BT phones and computers will control that volume for the device without problems.

The biggest problem that I have is connecting to anything Apple-related. I just spent about 15 minutes trying and retrying to get my headphones to connect to my brand new M1 MacBook Air. It would say "connecting" then "connected" and then "not connected" in sequence. Over, and over, and over again. Set the headphones up to pair several times, and checked that they were in pairing mode. Over and over. Out of the blue, they connected...right as a recording a video to demonstrate they would not connect. I'm in an airport terminal and had about 20 minutes to review videos before getting on a plane and wasted all of the time I had attempting to get these to connect.

These sound as good as any Bluetooth headphone I ever listened to. I had a $499 pair of bang and olufsen h8s and they were luxious and I loved them except the Bluetooth cuts and in a out. I would say for $200 headphones these sound great but honestly I wouldn't be able to tell the difference between $500 Bluetooth and this pair. They sound that good. I heard bass lovers should avoid these and despite listening to hip hop I love them. I also listen to pop, rock, reggae, alternative and r&B sometimes.

The connection is great and I never hear it cut in or out. I also saw in a review that you can't do one of the controls I think the person said volume. But you can. The switch when pressed to forward will do volume but if you hold it down a second or so it'll skip to next song. So all the controls on headphones work.
The headphones are also comfortable. They are close enough to Bose comfort so that I am happy and don't have issues. They also are pretty lightweight. Looking at the pictures of them online I thought they would be large headphones and I don't like that. I was pleasantly surprised when they arrived and were about perfect size. Not too small so the sound seems small and not to big to look dorky or ridiculous. I think the headphones look stylish enough and not too flashy or plastic feeling.
One more comment on sound quality. The headphones have a hi-res sound sticker on the box but that is only when they are connected by the wire. I didn't notice a sound quality drop without cable however. I have owned a lot of headphones from most of Bose, beats, bang and olufsen, bowers and Wilkins, Sony, philips, senheiser and more. I have not seen it being worth spending $500 for Bluetooth headphones when one like this $199 set sounds as good. These headphones retail for $199 which means on due time there will be cheaper prices. It is a bargain and most normal people will not see how any other Bluetooth set sounds better. I highly recommend them
