I bought these pads by measuring my shoulders and I am 5'11 and got D size breast so I got a Large it fits way better then lineman pads. And they are light as well.

My son wears a medium 19-20 at school fully measured by his coaches. Measures 19.25 at the proper point. In these, 19-20 was XL but we went with the measurements. Yup, way too big. Pads say 19-20 but they were just bigger than his school pads. They are light and structurally sound but the sizing let us down.
