Keeps My Tub Drain Free Flowing, But...

This is the best drain filter I've ever used and I wouldn't trade it for any other. However, it's not perfect. Keeping it clean is not as easy as the video suggests. Some hairs get partway through the holes. I use a pair of tweezers to pick them off, which takes a little time. Most of the hair that wraps around the base does come off in a ribbon-like bunch. More concerning to me is the fact that the filter tends to turn a dark black up to the level of the drain top. Not sure what the black stuff is, but it doesn't wipe off easily. I dipped one of the Schrooms I bought into bleach and that seemed to work. I'm going to experiment using an ultrasound tank I happen to own to see if it is effective.

This product is amazing! I wish they were a little bit cheaper because I need to replace mine that I've had for a couple of months. One thing I learned is that it does not go all the way down. You have to leave it up a little bit because the water will not drain and you'll have a pool of water in your shower. It is ready very slow to drain.

I wanted to wait a while before writing a review. I've had ALL the drain catchers. I mean all of them. The flower one with the chain, the different domed covers, the different bowl looking ones, etc. This one, however, has been the best. I have very very long hair and my husband sheds like crazy. We were snaking the drain often, even with those other ones. But we haven't done it one time since getting this. It's a little harder to clean, BUT it doesn't get disgusting like the other ones, because it actually catches the hair. It is super easy to put in the drain, the fit is perfect, etc. the other ones let hair slide down anyway, and then the water sits in the tub, and the hair ends up moldy and the drain cover ends up nasty. This one hasn't done that. I'm really pleased with it.

My hair is waist length and this thing works perfectly!! When you take it out to clean it you can sen the hair wrapped around many times. Cleaning the hair off is easy, the plastic is very soft and bends. One little piece of tissue and it slides off easily. I should have bought this years ago instead of cleaning my hair out of the drain!! This is a good product!
