OK for small fires, competing brand works better.

Even though the packets are bigger with more powder and have the same ingredients as the only slightly more expensive competing brand these don't work nearly as good as the other brand (chemicals probably aren't as pure). Also in the future I'll be buying the chemicals directly myself from a lab supply store because our fires would need almost the entire box of packets to work right ("Council" style fires, 10 feet cubed not counting the flames, VERY VERY big). 5 or so packets- 2x what was listed in the instructions- worked OK for small (2x2x2) fires when they were spread around the fire evenly. Also wait for the fire to die down a bit before you put them on, big, hot flames drown out the colors almost completely, as does paper, leaves or anything else that burns fast. Worked best with a split log type fire, not as good with stick fires. When they do actually work right it is very beautiful and mystical, my campers loved it! (One of them even knew it was Metallic Salts that made the colors, pretty sharp for an 8 year old!) Pics are with 5 packets on a small fire...

I had a tube of this type of product before and couldn't wait to get more. Unfortunately, I couldn't find any in town so I opted for Amazon. Tremendously surprised to find so much here and at great prices! You'd do well to throw 3 in at a time. I believe the color lasted for about a half hour. Great array of colors and all in convenient little packages! I'll order more as soon as I run out! All of my friends loved seeing this in action. Thanks, Amazon! 😸

We found Magical Flames at a camp store years ago and have kept some on hand ever since. We have an outdoor fire pit and we love to entertain our guests with the additional colors in the fire. Just remember to wait until you are done cooking as I don't think it is advised to cook over any fire once you have thrown in a packet of Magical Flames!

This is so amazing! Really love the colors lasts a really long time in the fire. Works better if you stick it deep inside maybe even before you start the fire. It can spark a little bit. It's a great way to liven up the fire kids love it
