Cover/wind screen is a separate item that mounts to the countertop, not to the stove itself.
Texas Tom's wife✓ Verified Purchase•October 15, 2023
I have a drawer that pulls out of the side of my travel trailer, the purpose of which is to support an outside grill or camp stove. The old stove broke, so I bought this one as an upgrade. I wanted to let everyone know that the cover/wind screen is a separate item that mounts to a countertop. It is not part of the stove. As such, the stove cannot be used with the windscreen unless it is mounted in some sort of countertop. It is therefore not a stand-alone unit. In addition, the wind screen does not have any attachment of the side shields, so a stiff wind could blow the cover back and bend it. I solved this by adding some snaps to the shields to hold them in place while in the open position. I had to bend the cover outward slightly to accommodate the width of the male snaps.
I connected this stove to my trailer's gas system via a quick-disconnect fitting and hose. My trailer, like most modern RV's, has a single regulator at the bottles, which reduces the pressure of the RV's gas system down to about 0.5psi. The stove came with a regulator which was set to 0.5psi, so that regulator only severed to restrict the flow. I removed the stove regulator and the stove burners worked perfectly after that.
Overall, the stove is worth the price, but know that it will be somewhat of a DIY project to install it and get it set up like you want.

Price/Quality makes the other more expensive options irrelevant

According to the various reviews on this and other comparable products, I see similar complaints. So you have to take reviews with a grain of salt. In general, this is a very low cost, relatively high quality(very high quality compared to price) With Amazon gift card I spent $57 which is about 1/2 what a competing cover costs forgetting about even the oven.
I did some research before buying this because the price was so low. There were some recalls on the stove through an RV manufacturer (you can find a link online). This relates to a regulator cover seen at the propane entrance to the stove. It has been fixed by replacing it with a metal cover. The other shock and surprise I got is that this stove has dual ignitors (no batteries or power required).
The stove is relatively lightweight, but once installed is plenty sturdy. Due to the thin metal, there can be some distortion and you will have to bend the top and side a bit to fit but that is really no problem.
The gas valves with integrated ignitors seam high quality as do all the elements. I was going to use an old Harbor fright propane stove made in India. This is far better quality made in China.
If in the market, I would say grab one of these before the price goes up.

After 2 1/2 years of daily use, it still works great!

It's narrower than most drop-in propane stove-tops by 6 - 10 inches. The good about that is it takes up less space, but the bad is that 2 pans at once is difficult as shown in the first pic. The sticker with the knob labels was peeling off within a week of use, and after fighting with it for months, I finally relented and ripped it off altogether. The adhesive was far more stubborn, requiring a scraper and Goo-Gone to remove. The biggest problem is in installation, the propane inlet is on the back less than an inch from the base meaning if your counter is thicker than about 1/2 inch, you'll need to gouge away at its underside to get the hose to fit (see second pic). Only other complaint is that it doesn't lay more flush with the counter. As you can see in the pic, the metal frame sticks up an inch, so it's not the prettiest installation. Other than those minor complaints, it works very well. Each burner has a piezo igniter -- almost always lights on the first try on the large burner, on the second try on the small one. And the stove itself has worked flawlessly, and I have used it every day for over 2 1/2 years now in my small custom camper van build. Came with a lid and wind-guard I never used.
Amazing upgrade!

Our Class C RV has an outside kitchen that came with a Suburban brand two burner stove. The standard for propane stoves is that they should be able to boil one liter of water in 8 minutes at sea level. That Suburban stove took 12 minutes to boil and if you tried to use both burners at the same time, forget about it!
After scouring the Internet for a replacement stove that would fit in the same spot with minimal modifications, we decided on this Flame King stove.
I cannot believe the power of this thing compared to the old stove. It boiled water in 9 minutes in the wind and it didn't matter if we used both burners or not. It's a beast!
I can see where there will be some minor cosmetic issues as other reviewers have reported, but I don't even care. It actually works and that makes me pretty happy"¦especially for this price point.

Good cooktop for not a lot of money.

Cooktop works great. It only gets used on camping trips maybe two weekends a month. The only problem I ran into was the wind screen. Instructions say to connect it with the screws but no screws were provided and there is no place to attach it even if screws were provided except to the surface the cooktop is installed in. Fortunately the wind screen does stand by itself when you unfold it so it was not a big issue. Most times I don't even need it. Other then that, the burners work good but there is not a lot of adjustment for the flame. This one has ignitors built in so no need to have a box of matches around. All in all, I like it. It does what its supposed to do. I read some reviews saying its cheaply built but this is not a $200 cooktop. I feel the quality is great for what it cost. I installed this into one side of a four foot fold out table and connect it to the outlet on the side of my fifth wheel camper. Now I can BBQ on my grill and use this cooktop for heating up things that don't BBQ easily.
