I purchased my Master Tailgaters Toyota Tundra Back-up Camera based on the recommendation of the technician at Best Buy that was installing my new radio. It is finally installed (took awhile to get the appointment at Best Buy). I highly recommend this camera that is fitted into the replacement tail gate handle. It looks like it was original equipment. It's a great safety addition that lets me see my trailer hitch and that dangerous blind spot behind the truck where you could easily miss seeing a child or a pet. I love the back-up lines that make it so much easier to back into a tight spot. I am very happy with this camera.

The down side - The wires coming off the back of the camera are too short, thus, the plug for the camera is inside the tailgate and not under the bed. That would make it difficult to remove the tailgate, my solution was to cut the wires and install a second plug in the factory location (under the Bed).

Put this in the night I received it. I had originally purchased a Pyle backup camera system (rear view mirror w/ license plate camera mount), but I wasn't satisfied with that systems camera location. This product took care of that issue. I got the Pyle system for $70 which was great because of the actual rear view mirror replacement and added this tailgate handle cam for another $100. Total cost of $170, I don't think you can beat that price combination. What I loved was that this system was made with quality. The RCA wire was long enough to go from the tailgate to the the front of the cab and I still had 5 feet to spare, other systems only offer 8 ft of RCA wire. Also, this systems RCA wire came with a sleeve to protect it from outside elements and debris, that's a big plus in my book. The handle was sturdy and has a great factory look. Price is incomparable, this is way cheaper then those other systems by a few hundred dollars. Although It's not plug and play, it wasn't hard to install. Just spliced the camera's power into my right side reverse wire, then ran the RCA below the truck to the cab (right side because there is a rubber plug under right rear footwell). Installed in under 30 min. Camera works great and system is performing better than I thought. Camera is wide angled and sits high up, reduces chances or getting dirty fast like those license plate cameras.

It works as advertised. Not super high res but what you would expect form a 20 foot composite video lead. The camera "sees" the bumper and trailer hitch and rearward to the horizon, which was my main objective. The "license plate frame" cameras do NOT see your bumper or hitch.

My tailgate latch broke and I replaced it with this one in anticipation of adding a backup camera to my truck. It fit perfectly and looks great. I agree with the other poster about the spring clip that retains the lock, the original is much stronger. Easy to swap them out.

I would also recommend that you remove the two latches and clean/lubricate them to ensure that they are not putting too much strain on the whole system. (Which it what caused my original latch to fail.)
