I had never before tried the Tazah brand of pickled turnips, but our local middle Eastern shop was out and I was desperate to make Shish Taouk sandwiches with the turnips, pickles and toum I love.
These worked perfectly. They were fresh, tasty and didn't have that odd sour aftertaste some brands have. That fact actually allowed me to try them in a few different meals I hadn't paired them with in the past, including as an ingredient in a nice salad and minced finely on top of some homemade garlic hummus. Delicious! We'll definitely be ordering these again frequently... they are now our favored brand.

I love these by themselves or in Shawarma, but the local Lebanese place never puts enough in and I didn't know where else to buy them. Great on Gyros too. I bet they'd be good in a salad,but haven't tried that yet.
