After spending 4 hours reading reviews of different dehydrators on Amazon and on the web I decided on the Magic Mill Pro. I truly believe I picked the correct one. You must have stainless steel trays, they are sturdy and easy to clean.
The large fan in the back of the dehydrator is powerful and quiet, it moves the heat around well but I still rotate the trays from bottom to the top around midway through the drying time.
Not only does it do an excellent job with fruits like bananas, strawberries, pineapple, and blueberries, beef jerky comes out very well also. The fine mesh trays work well for smaller fruit. You can make the fruit chips a little chewy or completely crispy if that is your preference.
The stainless steel trays really make the difference and even though there are some other reviewers saying the trays are difficult to clean, I believe they clean easily.
The trays combined hold more than 5 pounds of sliced meat for jerky.
The machine is very quiet and the aroma of the jerky during dehydration makes your mouth water.
My wife loves the jerky I make and so do my co-workers. I use this every weekend for jerky and during the week for fruit chips. It is a real workhorse. Oh, and I didn't notice a dramatic increase in my electric bill either.
If you want to make your own jerky and dried fruit this unit is the one you want.

I have been using the Magic Mill 9 rack dehydrator to make beef jerky, venison jerky, and dried fruits & peppers for about 5 months now, and it has performed spectacularly. The product manual that is included with the dehydrator gives clear and concise instructions that have been quite accurate regarding temperature settings and dehydrating times, and my finished jerky has come out delicious and perfectly dried every single time. It has worked so well, in fact, that I recently purchased a second Magic Mill dehydrator so that I can make even more jerky (the demand from my family and friends is high). I would absolutely recommend this product to anyone looking for a dehydrator that is easy to use and works every time.

I bought this dehydrator about 2 months ago and have used it over and over again. I love the metal drying racks as my prior dehydrator had plasttic ones which started to fall apart after a few months. It is not as noisy as I thought and all the fruits, veggies, and meats turned out great. Cleaning is easy as well. I just throw everything in the dishwasher. I bought the 9 rack machine since I like dehydrating a lot of foods. It is a big machine so make sure you have room for it wherever you want to put it.

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE ... this machine. My husband and I have used it almost everyday since it was delivered. It is the most WONDERFUL appliance in our kitchen. It is super quite, easy to clean and as for the dehydrating is concerned we could not ask for anything better.

Our own fresh dried fruits and vegetable "WITHOUT" any added chemicals, sugars, high fructose corn syrupy or preservatives; this is a healthier way of enjoying your daily servings of fruits an vegetables.

I have used the Magic Mill several times to dehydrate Roselle Calyxes. I have experminted with the time and temperatures. It does an excellent job.
