Honestly, I think this is the dorkiest hat I have ever purchased on Amazon. It does not fit right, to me it looks dumb on my head, and if you snap up the sides it looks even dumber. Doesn't even seem like those snaps are made right. I am either returning or donating to goodwill, I would never wear this in public.

Works well and very versatile with several choices of how to wear the brim. The snaps are non-rusting plastic. The fabric crushes and springs back.The only flaw on my example was I left for vacation before I noticed the chin strap toggle was mis-threaded and wouldn't stay in place. Because its a continuous loop you couldn't slide it off and re-thread it. Since I had already left home I just smashed it to remove it and replaced it with a toggle from a laundry bag we had brought along. It worked perfectly then. Check yours, this was probably an anomaly.

The good: Great hat really like the stiff brim and how light and cool the hat is.
The bad: Amazon folded the hat at the 10 & 2 position, and ruined the stiff brim.
The ugly: Me wearing a hat that has a messed-up brim.

Up-date: the seller has offered me a refund even though it was not their fault it was Amazon's fault. You can't ask for better service than that. Really like the hat it is lightweight and cool. I work on a airport ramp and with all the asphalt it is extremely hot and this hat really keeps the sun off my head, and the mesh keeps the air flowing. I would definitely buy again.

Reorder the hat for the up-and-coming summer and wouldn't you know it "”they folded the hat into quarters this time. Refused shipment!! Connectyle needs to get this fixed with Amazon!

I just put this through the extremes of fishing. I wore this in winds that were making the gulls fly sideways and I still have it. I also wore it in the blazing sun and it stayed fairly cool. The fabric and brim held up to being crushed during packing. It has a chin strap as well as an adjustable strap through the top so you can secure it to your head and note rely entirely on the chin strap in heavy winds.

We ordered these for wandering around Puerto Rico. We burn pretty easily, so we needed hats with brims, but we were going to humidity central and needed a little breathability. We also hiked around the El Yunque Rainforest, where it, surprisingly, rained. (We're from Phoenix, AZ, where it's usually not rainy or humid. Usually.)

These hats did exactly what we needed them to do. They kept our necks and faces from burning. The mesh top let air flow so that we weren't drowning in sweat. And even though the hats got soaked in the rain, our heads stayed fairly dry. (OK, so it wasn't a downpour or anything, more like an aggressive mist with a few drops in it, but I live in a desert, so I'm going to call it rain.)

These pack pretty well. They are crushable, so they came out of the suitcase wearable. They dried quickly and weren't unpleasant even when wet. The chin straps seem to be attached to the hat well. At least ours didn't break in the wind, and it was occasionally very windy.

No one mistook us for locals, though that might have been because we were also wearing Puerto Rico shirts with frogs ("coquis") on them. And carrying backpacks. And speaking this weird, horribly accented Spanglish that the locals were too nice to correct us on.
