Didn’t make much difference

I purchased this for my brother who lives in east Texas. It really didn't make much difference in his ability to get cell phone signals where he lives even with mounting above the roof of his house Hopefully, someday they will put a tower closer.
Did not work for me

I could not get this to work with my phone. I have no idea if it is a problem with the repeater or my phone. Could not identify a location for the nearest cell tower, so I had to just set it up and try every direction. No joy.
I get 1 bar on my TracPone CDMA phone (Verizon network) and none of the apps that are supposed to show tower locations would work. Never got any improvement so I really don't know. I live in a rural area, so expected this to help at least a little.
It took me too long to test it so I lost the return window. Chalk it up to experience.

It works perfectly but you need to do your research! Hints below!

It actually works. It took 1-2 bars outside of HSPA+ and made them 5 bars, in a basement, and with full coverage through a stone wall into my stone farmhouse. I have no less than 2 bars where I had none before. I will experiment with antenna placement in the house to make this even better.
You need an ap such a LGTE Discovery, which at the time of this review is free. This will tell you what network you are on and what frequency. It will also give you a rough idea of what direction your tower is. The rest is the logistics of mounting - we used an unused chimney flue and sent the wire through that, mounting the antenna on a black plastic pipe on the chimney cap. I didn't use a steel or copper pole because I was worried this would make interference.
I am overall tremendously pleased with it. I will update as to how it holds up and any issues as we get rid of our land line for this.

This worked pretty well right out of the box. I don't get 5 bars but it gets 2 to 4 bars and that is plenty for my phone to work.
More Bars for sure.

Let me start by saying I am in a Verizon 4 LTE area in which I needed to go into the front corner of my house to talk to someone without getting cut off. The service is variable 1 to 2 bars at best even in the corner. I installed this antenna outside up on the side of my house with the wire going through to my basement. My office is in my basement. I went from 1 to up to 4 bars. The service still seems to vary but I have at least two bars on my phone and can now make calls from my basement which was never a possibility before. I can't say how this would be for everyone but for me it definitely boosted up my bar count even on my second and third floors from the basement. I now very often see 4 bars on my phone like never before.
