I received my Hollywood Racks TRS bike rack yesterday. I was taken aback a bit - the main box was crumpled and torn and it appeared like it was a re-packaged return. After opening the main box, the rack main frame appeared to be new. Then I started opening the other boxes - when I got to the one that held the hitch I was a surprised to find it had the 2-inch adapter attached to it. I say surprised, because I specifically ordered the 1-1/4-inch hitch bike rack. Then I noticed that there was an Allen-head screw holding the adapter in place on the hitch...a stripped Allen-head screw. To me this is not a very wise business practice, to use defective parts on a new unit especially when I spent over $300 on this item. So with that said, in order to use this rack I had to drill out the screw holding the 2-inch adapter. Once I did, everything was better after that. The instructions for this rack are very explicit and easy to understand. All of the parts were there and it took approximately 45-minutes to assemble everything. This rack is very rugged and heavy - women beware. Once assembled, the rack is very easy to retract. Loading and unloading of the bikes is a breeze and the arms firmly hold the bicycle to the rack. I bought this rack for long trips - we will be using it in a couple of weeks and I will make updates on how well it worked for us. Other than the defective Allen-head screw, the rack appears to be of good quality and very stable, thus why I give it 4-stars. Also be aware this rack does not come with any type of locking devices or cables. We ordered the locking kit as well. Looking forward to using it. More to come....

Update: We used this rack over Memorial Day weekend - drove 500-plus miles and this rack performed in excellent fashion. Sturdy - very stable - hardly any sway. I'm glad I purchased this rack - great buy.

Very stable and sturdy. A little on the heavy side. Holds my mountain bike very well. No movement while I am driving. Only drawback is the mechanism for tilting the rack down. somewhat cumbersome, but not a deal breaker for me.

Great bike rack! Loading/unloading is a breeze! Too bad it didn't come with receiver tube that allows you to tighten the rack as well as use a locking hitch pin.

I had decided to make the jump from a trunk mount rack to a tray style carrier rack. My initial choices were between the Yakima holdup and the Sarris super clamp. I actually saw someone using this one around town and it looked really stable. I looked it up and it was cheaper than my first to choices, but with the same features. Nothing touches my frame, super easy loading, I can access my trunk with the bikes on it. I will say that if two bikes are loaded, it's much easier to get it to tilt to access the trunk with help. Hopefully if you have two bikes, you will have someone with you to help. Unlike the other two racks, it will accommodate pretty much any tire size without any add ons. The biggest tire I've tried is 35mm on my hybrid, but they claim it will work with a fat bike. It was simple to put together, took about an hour, came with tools but I used my own that were better. I do recommend that you get the security kit for it. The kit comes with a locking pin for the receiver, and a cable for the bikes. The pin and cable are keyed alike.

This is a very well-constructed bike carrier that my two fat-tire cruisers fit on just fine. Construction was painless, but once I got the entire product assembled it was very heavy to move around. It fits the hitch nicely.
